Emil Bove, the #2 at the DoJ, went to a great deal of trouble denying anything untoward about the arrangement made with Mayor Eric Adams to drop the charges against him for wire fraud and bribery. Charges on which he had been indicted and for which a trial was pending in the spring.

Then Tom Homan, trump's immigration czar, went on TV and blew Emil's cover.

Homan: If Adams doesn’t ‘come through, I’ll be back in New York City’

Tom Homan, the border czar tasked with overseeing President Trump’s mass deportation plan, issued a stark warning to New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) on Friday if he doesn’t “come through” on enforcing immigration policies.

Homan and Adams made a joint appearance on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends,” after Adams agreed to allow federal immigration officials to operate at Rikers Island — a decision signaling a change in the Big Apple’s sanctuary city policies. The duo also vowed to work together to solve New York’s “migrant problem.”

“If he doesn’t come through, I’ll be back in New York City, and we will be sitting on the couch,” Homan told the Fox News panel, referring to the embattled mayor. “I’ll be in his office saying, ‘Where the hell is the agreement we came to? We’re going to deliver for the safety of the people of this city.'”

Agreement? Oh, he must have been talking about the agreement Hagan Scotten referred to in his resignation letter.

No system of ordered liberty can allow the Government to use the carrot of dismissing charges, or the stick of threatening to bring them again, to induce an elected official to support its policy objectives.

Yup, that's the one alright. The agreement that lead to 7 DoJ officials to resign.

In his letter to Danielle Sassoon demanding she drop the charges against Adams, Emil made no mention of prosecutorial misconduct or a lack of evidence against Adams to secure a guilty verdict. Because he knew neither were the case. The subtext of the letter stated, "the boss has coerced Adams in to doing his bidding in NYC on immigrants so let him go.........even though he's guilty."

Some have drawn parallels between this incident and the Watergate era Saturday Night Massacre. But there's a distinct difference. When Nixon ordered the Special Prosecutor investigating his case to be fired it was top level officials in the DoJ who told him to stuff it. This time around top level officials like Bove and Bondi have supplanted fidelity to their oath of office with any damn thing they are told to do by their boss. Someone with an intimate familiarity with breaking the law.

Boy, this one is just right out in the open.

This is a corrupt and criminal Trump administration; Trump is a criminal and convicted felon.

It comes as no surprise that Trump’s DoJ would enter into a lawless agreement to stop the prosecution of Adams in exchange for Adams allowing ICE to run roughshod in New York City.

The moonbats figured out what "dismissed without prejudice" means....

I can see pardons on the way out the door with this one. Just like we have saw in the past.

Boy, this one is just right out in the open.
When I saw the tape of Homan overtly acknowledging the quid pro quo with Adams I thought, gee, he's going to have his hand slapped.

Then it occurred to me there is no problem in trumpworld with denying a quid pro quo with Adams exists and then admitting it does. It illustrates their feeling they have nothing to fear from being exposed as liars. The base doesn't care. Congressional Repubs are too cowed to say anything. The field is clear.

Yeah. There are no standards across the board now.

Just another raindrop in the hurricane.

The feeling among them is..........who is going to stop us? Acton's quote about absolute power comes to mind.

Correct.

The criminal Trump administration knows it can commit crimes with impunity – just as Trump committed crimes and was never brought to justice.

Not only does the Trump Cult and Congressional Republicans not care, the nation as a whole doesn’t care.

And just like Hunter and others.

His own experience with the commission of multiple crimes without consequence, on top of his SC's ruling on presidential immunity, has proven to be intoxicating.

And? Lol.
You've unwittingly made my point. trump has so manipulated folks like you that you simply shrug your shoulders as you witness overtly corrupt, illegal acts. Along with the purge of those inside the DoJ who object.

Biden's pardons were just as corrupt.

It’s more than a feeling – it’s a fact – no one will stop them; indeed the Trump Cult and Congressional Republicans will continue to facilitate Trump’s corruption and lawlessness, while the rest of the nation ignores Trump’s crimes with feckless apathy.
