For 8 years the left celebrated a lawless nation under Barack Obama. That is one of many reasons that the American people turned the entire federal government (and the overwhelming majority of state governments) to the Republican Party. Attorney General Jeff Sessions needs to charge Rahm Emanuel with Felony Aiding and Abetting and put him in prison where he belongs. It sends a strong message that we will not tolerate people aiding in the violation of federal law simply because they hold public office. Being an elected official does not place one above the law.

Actually, there is a federal statute that says it's a felony to shield someone who is here illegally.

"Any person who, knowing that an alien has come to the U.S. in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection such alien in any place, including any building… shall be imprisoned not more than 5 years.” (8 U.S. Code, section 1324)

Five years behind bars might give city officials pause to rethink their sanctuary philosophy. But there’s an added punishment written in the law: if someone dies because a city official decided not to comply with federal law, as in the Steinle case, the maximum penalty is life behind bars. I’m pretty sure that’ll get the attention of some sheriffs, police chiefs and mayors.

Bill Clinton may have used the federal police to incinerate about 80 men women and children but it indicates a failure in leadership rather than a "lawless nation".
