Time to Expand the House?

Obama promised to lock lobbyists out of the White House.

He won and what did he do? Invited in the lobbyists.

What did the people do? Re-elect him.
Anytime you have to choose one person to run the nation. McCain was the first alternative; Romney was the second one. Obama was the better choice in both cases. Clearly. Do you disagree?

Obama had hs share of failures. Listening to lobbyists was probably one of them but far from the most egregious.

Lobbyists are a very important and vital part of helping congress understand. Congress does not rely on one lobbyist, a number show up to present facts and case arguments.

Many times, the lobbyists are open and are vital to hearings the congress has.

choosing between two bad choices is not something I participate in. They know they can lie because you are still going to support them regardless.

then you pretend the issue lies elsewhere.

Sure, his war mongering, bending over for Wall Street, spying on citizens and a long list of others were bad also.

The only thing listened to is $$$$$$$.

Generally, the presidents rely on their team to talk to lobbyists and relay important data. Somehow this country came up with the nutty idea that lobbyists are bad people. They are simply experts in their working fields.

Odd how these experts would argue that opioid's were not addictive.

Imagine you are in congress. Would you desire an expert in airplanes to talk to you or Greta Thunberg? This assumes you want to know about airplanes to make important decisions.

Experts that got requirements on training lifted which cause planes to fall into the ocean?

I'd rely on Greta.

I know how Boeing got people killed.

Greta Thunberg is only an expert in one thing: getting free publicity.
I can't recall another example in history when a child with clear mental issues was used to push a cause and to do so with relative success.

I seem not to be reaching you.

The common bs about the lobbyist is fiction. Congress depends on them. Congress simply is not expert on all issues or problems. When they want to learn more, they will consult not a lobbyist, but several of them.

I am trying to educate people on the role of lobbyists. Using Thunberg might not have worked but the idea is valid.

I got one reply that a poster believes Boeing got passengers killed and that simply is fiction.

If you were a pilot, you would not make that kind of claim. I am a pilot and do not believe you at all. So, to you Greta is your kind of expert. Amazing.

Why would Boeing or experts try to cause airliners to crash?

You are just rambling.

All to keep the stock prices propped up.

Okay. How has not choosing worked out for you?
They know they can lie because you are still going to support them regardless.
I voted for McCain as my senator twice (I think). He’s a moderate. Obama was more moderate than most democrats.

Find me a person who has never lied...do you think you can do that? Do you think that is a reasonable standard?

then you pretend the issue lies elsewhere.
There are issues that do exist elsewhere despite the rhetoric of the day. Saving GM was one of those. Obama did that. He did a lot of good things; he also had his share of fuckups. Drawing Iraq to a close. Killing Bin Laden. The ACA.
Sure, his war mongering, bending over for Wall Street, spying on citizens and a long list of others were bad also.
Can’t argue that. For six years (I think it was), he had an opposition Congress. He had to deal with Austerity measures. Still stuff he could control was lacking. Too big to fail banks were still too big to fail; nobody got punished for the VA and IRS scandals.

The whole, “I found about about it in the morning newspaper” was shocking.

Unlike most of his supporters, I was happpy to say that I thought it was nonsense.

On balance the positives outweigh the negatives by several tons.
