Time to Expand the House?

The United Kingdom Parliament has around 1500 members for 69 million people in total.
When I was a director of the state of CA Real Estate association, we had in the area of 2000 directors and 135,000 members. I went to my own Board of Directors, 18 of us, and persuaded the group to start telling the members we represented the things we learned at the state meetings, so they got something for their dues.

Each representative speaks for 760,000 people. This number is clearly too large for effective representation.

Most would be gerrymandered, of course. But there will be more purple districts if we increase the number. The larger issue is, of course, how to expand it and to what number. I don’t know the former. The latter...we need to essentially double the size of the house. Espansion should take place in three stages over 16 years. This would eleviate any shocks to the system to where there are too many of any one party elected at once. Whats more is that this can (and likely will) create seats for third parties since it will tkae fewer voters to win a seat in Congress.
More Government ?

I think at at least doubling the current size would be sufficient. Also, why does every vote require a physical quorum in D.C.? We're in the 21st century now. They should be spending most of their time in their home districts where they are more accessible to their constituents and less so to D.C. lobbyists. With the technology we have, there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to vote from their local offices.

Oh lord, you liberals just LOVE making it easy to post fake votes, don't you?

No, we pay you to show up in congress. GO THERE and do your damn job.

And not having more representtion has delivered us a debt-free government?
Nothing in the history of the world has ever been made better by more Government. The Fed needs to be cut back to it's Constitutional mandate not expanded.

They have not solved where to have offices at, how to enlarge the Senate, how to enlarge the house and more.

Well, they aren't going to vote to dilute their own power anyway, so there won't be any expansion.

Sure....bandits are decimating your village in _________ nation. Who do you call to stop it?

Currently you have a representtive who also represents nearly 1M other citizens. Do you feel represented in Congress? How about the guy in your district who is politically the opposite of you?
