Time to do away with the major political parties

You say they want to drain the swamp, when they literally publicaly support corporatists.
I support everyone paying their "fair share" Thats why I support redoing the entire tax code. You know, instead of political theatre bullshit like raising tax rates.
You are seriously an idiot, dude. No joke.
Reagan lowered taxes on the rich. Bush lowered taxes on the rich. More than once. Then Trump lowered taxes on the rich. All of us but that will expire end of 2025.

Yes I support rolling back some if not all of those tax breaks. I would have never passed any of them. I would have paid off the debt first. And when I want to get the economy booming I'd be a middle class president first. Lower the middle classes taxes and everyone wins. No excuse to be poor if the middle class is booming. And corporations make a fortune off us.

Corporations don't care about us as much as they used to. They're more interested in tapping into those Chinese and Indian markets.

It's not that simple.

The people need to come together to devise a plan to defeat the two major partiies.

That's far from being possible on account of a huge majority of Americans support the two parties.

But at least someone has started thinking of what has to happen

But of course that thinking has happened to a much greater degree in many previous years and has always been a resounding failure.

And now America has to try to deal with an outstanding attempted coup first!
The real coup took place long ago. We now live under a government that is above the law. It breaks the law every day is exists.

The people who suddenly claim to be dissatisfied with major political parties are generally democrats who hate Trump but can't bring themselves to support Biden.
Nah. They're generally Republicans who are disgusted with Trump, but who don't have the guts to admit that the Democrats were right about everything.

They want to be subtle fascists, not open fascists. They want to control and fleece the common riffraff through a money-backed police state, not a fascism-backed police state.

I want to see RFK and Biden and Trump on a stage together so Biden to debate, instead of lemmings like yourself being spoon fed the DNC narrative that Biden's opponents are either too crazy or corrupt to debate or they are simply too unworthy to even talk to.
Those primary presidential debates Reagan had in 84 were probably really good...but for some reason, I can't find any footage of it....it's almost like it didn't happen...but I am sure Reagan would have never stood for not having a GOP primary debate, just because he is the incumbent....oh wait!

Well, at least Bush had a GOP primary debate in 2004.....I mean, I just know there were primary debates then because of how outraged all of the "Conservatives" were over the Iraq invasion.....I am sure Bush wouldn't stand for not having any debates just because he was the incumbent.....oh wait!

There is nothing wrong with the parties themselves, it's the people in those parties that fuck up everything.

There was a time when even democrats still cared about America. True they still messed up stuff, republicans messed up also but not as much as democrats. But still, they used to be a party that had the best interest of America at heart in general.

Now this new breed of democrat don't give two shits about America. They only care about their own personal financial and political gain. Meanwhile republicans are scrambling to try and set things right but it's hard when they are fighting against a party with most of the msm in their pocket and tons of extremely rich and powerful people behind them like bill gates and George soros. And Republicans are a bit fractured.

The system is fine, but we need to get rid of everyone that isn't in it for what they can get. They are in it because they love America and have real American values, pride, morals and standards. But that's a damn tough battle to fight.

Even democrats that loved our nation like tulsi gabbard were run out by the others. They are a cancer that needs to be removed, and republicans need to band together.
The system is obviously not fine.

People have joined the cult of party and have stopped thinking for themselves.

Of course, assuming doing away with the party system would help this is a big question mark, but at least it might help a little.

The major problem is, the American public thinks that the other party is the problem.

Assuming you are correct, which is probably true that both parties are the problem, you no longer can divide and conquer the American people.

They rely on cult tactics of our group is righteous and has truth and all others that oppose us in any way do not.

These parties are cults.

Imagine Joe Biden having to defend himself instead of hiding behind the skirt of his party.

He would get disemboweled.

There's at least some hope that the coup attempt will finally be either dealt with or it will succeed.

Then maybe government that survives can be criticized and dealt with?

Here is a bit where Howard Stern asks voters in Harlem who they will vote for, however, he goofs on them by first asking them about Obama policies that he switches with McCain policies.

In other words, the people were voting for the man, not the policies because they were clueless about them.

The party system is what is helping to do this.

At least your 'long ago' can be said to be a leadup to Trump's attempted coup.

The coup attempt is still in progress. It appears that it will manifest in attempts by either or both parties interference in the electoral system.

The outcome of the coup be decided by which side wins the presidency and other offices.

The decision on which side was on the side of right should have been settled on Jan. 6th.

It's funny Republicans love Trump so much but hate Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. They are the real 2 who want to drain the swamp. But the corporate media has them calling these people socialists.

They want to replace it with a deeper swamp, not drain it.

We need a hard .mil coup. That way they can declare both partys criminal .orgs (which they are).
This is where the utterly infantile & reactionary logic of all who say “abolish the major parties” usually leads — military or populist dictatorship, communist or fascist dictatorship, or utter chaos, demagoguery, violation of Constitutional rights and civil war. Even the stupidest MAGA enthusiast should understand this much.

“Opposing” the “two party system” or just being sick of both party’s politics is one thing. This can be perfectly reasonable.

Entirely different is calling for “abolishing” major parties without specifying how that can be done whilst maintaining civic rights to political association, representative republican institutions and our still remarkably free society.

History shows that the only stable way to rule a large free modern country is to have rule of law, separation of powers, and at least two reasonably healthy parties which occasionally replace one another in power — thus tending to limit entrenched corruption.

Fools who call for a military dictatorship or a one man dictatorship are part of the problem — not part of any solution to all the extremist madness that exists in our society and political life today.

What they want is to take out the political swamp creatures and replace them with corporate beasts. And leave the government powerless to do anything about it.

They've done it with global warming. Just recently the Supremes, who are clearly in the corporations pockets (clarence thomas harlan crow) took power away from the EPA. Said the constitution says only congress should have that power. Knowing that congress is in gridlock.

Ok, so then environment is a key political issue. Young people need to know if they want the government to clean up the air and our waters, vote Democrat. Republicans will vote with the corporate global pollutors.

I've reached this decision after discussing the issue with several people.

For the first time in history, the United States will not have a Presidential debate in either party.

Now I realize the GOP has one without Trump but Trump is like the incumbent Biden, who is untouchable.

And with the legal troubles looming over Trump during the time to debate Biden, will Trump decline based on not wanting to talk about his cases before trial? So it may be that we won't get those debates either.

I've discussed the issue with a few democrats and republicans and the consensus is the same, they don't care. None of them care.

However, according to polls well than half the majority in each party don't want to see another Biden/Trump match up, which is unavoidable now.

The party system is pure poison. All that motivates people to vote now is how their cult party tells them to vote, even though it is not really what they want.

Imagine people having to listen to a candidate talk and assess them by themselves, without their party telling them to discard them because of their particular party they are affiliated with.

People's brains would implode!!

Ok, so the big question is how do you get 85 million people (or 35%), mostly die hard party supporters or "lesser of two evils" voters to vote 3rd party? How do you raise the kind of revenue it would take to get a political revolution like that started?

Every time we've had a big movement building in this country, that would bring people together help change the status quo, the two big parties ban together with their billions and squash any opposition.

I'd like nothing more than to see an old fashion liberal party come together with an equal amount of fiscal conservatives and help fix this country. But how to do it is the conundrum.

the EPA has been overstepping it's bounds for decades. Just because Congress is in "gridlock" doesn't mean unelected agencies get to take over.

Dems will vote in laws that ruin our standard of living over a panic, but not their standard of living, of course.

Either you want to get shed of the two party system and the .gov regulatory and police state tyranny they have spawned or not.

History shows there is only one way to deal with entrenched political systems that have lost their way and work for themselves rather than those they are supposed to serve. That way is by force.

What, do you think they will ever get better and give up their power?

I'll take my chances with a hard coup and let the chips fall where they may.

On the Republican side, a debate wouldn't mean much. Voters have already chosen Trump, by a lot. A debate would not change that. In fact, those who debated, debated against Trump anyway and it did nothing. The only one to really score some points in that debate was Chris Christie, who has more support than ever - from Democrats but he's not running for the Democratic nomination.

Now in Biden's case, most Democratic voters don't want to see Biden be the nominee and would love to see debates with others or have Biden drop out altogether. But, the DNC and Biden & Co won't allow that and of course we know why they won't allow it.

Well then, you are choosing clearly to be part of the problem. If you act on your impulses you will be an enemy of free society, a criminal and seditious enemy of our Constitution and Republic — and you will be dealt with accordingly.

No. The coup I’m speaking of happened long ago and is essentially complete. A rapacious oligarchy has completed its take over of our government. Trump is merely a symptom of the people trying to stop this outlaw government. Of course, Trump is not the guy for the job.

First you must do away with the First Amendment.

The problem isn’t the political parties – the problem is this sort of ignorance of the Constitution and the political process.
