As a conservative white woman I have a work ethic and skill set that allows me to compete with men or anybody in several different disciplines and I have held a number of good jobs that traditionally were considered men only jobs. In some of those it was harder for me to gain acceptance and respect than it was for the guys, but I got there. And now competent qualified women are common in those fields.

However, to lower standards so that I can qualify for jobs that require strength, speed, agility etc. that I don't have and cannot realistically acquire makes no sense whatsoever.

Like the female DEI officer of the L.A. Fire Dept. when told most woman weren't strong enough to carry a man out of a burning building, callously replied: "He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”

Addressing a comment that black people want people responding to their emergency to look like the, he very correctly pointed out that nobody gives a damn about the skin color of the person carrying him/her out of a burning building or whatever.

Equality means that ALL can compete regardless of their gender or skin color or ethnicity or whatever. But the standards should always be optimum ability and performance and never lowered so that the weak or otherwise incapable/incompetent people can compete.

The NFL could lower its standards so that this old lady could play professional football. But who would want to see that or certainly who would pay to see that?
