Thomas Friedman: Obama Can See America From Iran's Perspective

Sometimes, do you get the feeling that the gop is the party of stupid?
“Negotiation 101: You sit across the table. First of all, you put yourself on the other side of the table and you say ‘What do they, what can they do, what can’t they do. You get the lay of the land. The second thing you do is, you make an offer that they will accept some in that range, and you’d be willing to take. And the third thing you do in a negotiation, you want to end up, as you walk out the door, with a win/win,” said Welch. - See more at: The Shutdown And Presidency Power With Jack Welch State of the Markets

Iranians are NOT stupid and neither are we when negotiating......

The art of compromise is based on the reality that no one really loses, and NO ONE really wins.

Iranians know full well that sanctions (with Russia and China snickering and violating any bans) do very little.....and that the only other recourse is for us to attack Iran (which is 3 times the size of Iraq with formidable armed forces).....and that would be INSANITY....

As the Iranians know this, so does the Obama administration....ERGO, diplomacy is the only alternative....but right wingers consider this an act of "appeasement"...WHY??? Well, they are fundamentally stupid.
The reality of the situation has no place in the conservative warhawk assessment. They think Iran is a backward Afghanistan like place rather than the developed, educated place it really is and you cannot tell them any different.

Friedman is such a Communist Globalist wanker. Not surprising he worships the Dear Leader. So i take anything he says with a grain of salt.

Well, by now you must be like Lot's wife.

I can see things from 'irans' point of view , only difference between me and mrobama is that I want to keep iran in their state of frustration and powerlessness while mrobama is working to eliminate 'irans' pain .

Well, with that bit of imbecility, most of us are glad that you're not in charge and just bitching from the sidelines.

I'm not whinging NAT , I really think that mrobama supporters are eventually going to get what they deserve . If you boneheads don't have the brains to understand the liars that run 'iran' then you deserve what you get and I'll be glad to see it !!

Friedman's a whiny Globalist ****. Who cares what he thinks about anything.
If you only pay attention to people who pass some kind of conservative purity test then you are a narrow-minded Dumb-ass.

Friedman's always been a whiny Communist Globalist ****. Can't stand him. Always pushing his stupid books and shit. He's irrelevant.

And so are your comments on this thread.

Lots of educated people in Nazi Germany, too. You need to be grateful for war hawks.

Of course, Obama looks at America from the view point of the radicals that seek to destroy us. Is anyone surprised? He acted as Iran's agent during the nuclear talks. He gave them what they want with no promises in return. Iran has already proudly announced that there will be no inspections of their military bases. Only someone who feels the same way they do toward Israel, America and our allies would be happy about this so-called deal.

Iran is the biggest sponsor of terrorism. And Obama trusts them. Did Obama secretly cheer on 9/11? No one on the left would admit it, but he refuses to condemn them, he approved of building a mosque near ground zero and he changed 9/11 to a happy day of community service. I think the radicals believe that the terrorists were just engaging in community service that day.

Shame that our own president doesn't have that kind of admiration for this country.

"Appearing on today's Morning Joe, Friedman apparently thought he was praising Obama, but Joe Scarborough wasn't so sure, asking "is it an admirable quality for us to have a president who can look at the world through the eyes of a regime that you and I both know has been the epicenter of terrorism since 1979?" "

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
Obama has on numerous occasions failed to do this.
This is one of these occasions....
It is not within the purview of the POTUS to have feelings, empathy or insight as to the government of another nation.
The POTUS has but one interest. That is in the Oath taken above. Period.

Being able to see through the eyes of your adversary and to know your enemy is a valuable ability sadly lacking in nearly every conservative on the face of the earth.
That's not what Obama is doing.
He sees through their eyes in deference to them. Not seeing through their eyes as a means to defend THIS nation.

Yeah, the point is that you people think Iran is just another piss-hole like our other two wars. There are times that hawkishness is a good thing but when the urge for battle is based in misinformation and "faulty intelligence" it's a ******* terrible thing.

this thread points out rather well, WHY right wingers are both lousy and constant losers at chess and even simple debate....especially when their hatred of Obama gets the best of them.

Idiots.........
Chess? WTF are you yammering about?
Hatred? No.....Not of the man himself. His policies.
You idiots cannot distinguish between the two.

Its a shit hole. Iran is governed by people living in the 7th century.
Iran is a sponsor and an active participant in terrorism.
Here's the sad part. We could cripple Iran without firing a single shot.
We could easily sabotage their ability to produce oil by electronic means.

they are worshipping their God 'nospoon' !!

You know only what the same people who sold you the Iraq war have told you. Why are you so eager to trust them again?

In other words, a-la GWB vis-a-vis Putin you SAW what was in the mind of Obama......You right wingers have this uncanny capacity of determining in others what their empathy, feelings and insights are or must be.......Truly a remarkable assets that only conservatives have......amazing.

Chess? WTF are you yammering about?

Obviously the game of chess is as foreign to you as ....well, sanity.

In chess the ability to foresee what your opponent may do next, determines who the winner will most likely be.

Stick to checkers.
