I'm not sure how you get it if it's airborne. What I've been getting is to don't shake hands, wash hands and don't touch your face (nose, eyes, mouth) with your hands after being out in public and before washing hands. Definitely wash your hands after sneezing or coughing so you don't spread it (common sense).

I was going to do a Costco run this week, not to prepare for anything, but found in the news that people have been stocking up on survival food and gear. Things have gotten expensive and scarce in San Francisco and surrounding areas. One person spent $700 on spam. What is the world coming to? I usually don't buy dried and canned goods, but may buy a few now. And a case of bottled water. It prolly won't be enough, but what if one gets quarantined? Someone said it was doomer porn.

People are freaking out for no reason. The flu kills more than this new virus has. Its getting to bad with the paranoia, people are now asking their vets to put their dogs down because they are afraid the dog is a carrier. I sure hope they dont have kids. Kids are germ magnets cuz they are kids. As dogs are dogs. But to kill your pet because your are afraid? Thats some bullshit right there. I hope the people who ask the vet to do that get turned in for animal abuse and those poor dogs get taken away.

That may not be true due to the high number of suspected people that have it and show no symptoms. Nobody gets the flu and doesn't know it. So taking that unknown number into account, it's really not much. In SK they have it pegged at .07% that's less than one percent. Just like the flu. Because they tested everyone and found 6000 people have it that showed no symptoms. So those 6000 cases wouldn't have been counted in the mortality rate in this country because they had no symptoms and thus wouldn't have been tested.

That may not be true due to the high number of suspected people that have it and show no symptoms. Nobody gets the flu and doesn't know it. So taking that unknown number into account, it's really not much. In SK they have it pegged at .07% that's less than one percent. Just like the flu. Because they tested everyone and found 6000 people have it that showed no symptoms. So those 6000 cases wouldn't have been counted in the mortality rate in this country because they had no symptoms and thus wouldn't have been tested.

You can't compare it to the flu due to the fact that each year they are able to use the strain of flu that starts in Australia to create the vaccine of the new strain in the U.S. helping to keep people more resistant. That's why so many people are afraid of this. We have no vaccine to give to people, especially those millions of people with weak immune systems, young children, or the elderly.

You ever been in a senior care center on the west coast for an extended period of time? They eat together at the same time, and everyone has to bee wheeled into the potty room at very close to the same time, and instead of first come, first served, it can be terse as first scream, first served, with no time to wash between cleaning the seniors after excusing themselves, or the seniors can't remember whether they wiped, forgettabout it, and first thing rub their eye or itchy skin around the nose or mouth area.

It's no excuse, but the skilled day nurses go home and leave the seniors to the less-skilled night crew who may not know all the protocols instantly. The night population has a large turnover, and frequently what could go wrong with people sleeping goes out the window in a crisis.

Seniors have exponential issues compared to people in their childbearing years. And the home may have had exponential turnovers of nurses who are also mothers and quit before infecting their own families due to the deep-seated refusal to ever show disloyalty to family.
