Take Eric Euken, a seventh-generation Iowa farmer. He grows corn and soybeans, raises cattle and pigs, and voted for Trump even knowing tariffs were coming. āI didnāt anticipate it being as bad as it is,ā he told CNN.
Thatās a him problem, not an us problem.
āIt is a tough situation right now with the lack of markets that we have, or places to market our crop,ā Euken said. āAnd itās kind of the government that put us in that situation.ā
Yes, itās āthe governmentā that has created this messābut not the one that existed under former President Joe Biden. But who put that government there? He and his neighbors helped lead the charge. Againāa them problem, not an us problem.
Then he added: āSo I hate to pin it on the American taxpayer, but if they want us to survive, we are going to need some help.ā
Haha, what? Why would we want them to survive?
