Comey should write a letter to the same congressional chairs and state that the Trump campaign is ALSO under FBI investigations regarding the campaign's alleged ties to Russian millionaire oligarchs through Trump's former campaign manager, Manafort ......and possible Russian hackers' involvement to aid the Trump campaign.

FULL disclosure is always a good way toward seeking redemption.

That would still be in violation of the law, and in fact Comey stated himself he wouldn't bring up Trump & Russia on Oct. 7, 2016 because it was too close to the election.

"FBI Director James Comey argued in private against accusing Russia of meddling in the US election, contending it was too close to election day in November for such an announcement, a former FBI official told CNBC on Monday.

That allegation came just days after Comey sent a letter to congressional leaders informing them that the FBI found new emails in another investigation that may be "pertinent" to the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server, which he had deemed closed over the summer."
