Judge blocks prosecutors’ access to James Comey’s lawyer’s emails and data

What violations?
To put this in perspective.

According to your worldview.
-A person under investigation doesn't have the right to protect attorney client information.
-The government is allowed to use information obtained in another search warrant for something unrelated.
-Material seized in a search warrant remains in the custody of the government indefinitely.
-It isn't necessary for the government to establish probable cause for the use of such material.

If that sounds right to you I suggest N-Korea.
If it doesn't... congratulations you now know what the violations are.

#1 "Voluntgary and with a search warrant", Hmmm - LOL.

#2 The search warrants limited the use of the information obtained.

That looks like an argument by Comey's lawyer. It argues that the warrant restricted, what could be seized, not how whatever was seized could be used.

I understand Comey's lawyer making that argument trying to save his client from a lengthy prison sentence.

But why are you opposed to the whole truth coming out?

Who said I'm opposed to the truth coming out?

The DOJ could have applied for a new warrant to expand the reach of their search for the additional matter and applied for an exception to the attorny/client priviledge information and taken it to a Judge. Then proceeded if the Judge agreed under a new warrant.

That is very different than thinking that the DOJ can use information based on a specific use warrant and then use it for other things and/or violating attorney/client priviledge without proper authorization from the courts. The potential errors are on their (the DOJs) shoulders.

But you get what you get when you fire experienced prosecutors and replace them with political appointments without proper experience in the fields of law they will be practicing.

I thought you were agreeing with this filing that would prevent the truth from coming out?

The laptop itself may be full of lies. But it is true that everything on the laptop is on the laptop. That is the truth that Comey's lawyer is trying to hide.

That sounds like nothing but a stalling tactic. Don't forget that Comey's lawyer, voluntarily gave the image of his laptop.

Maybe the judge will rule that the information obtained by warrant would have to be obtained again under a new warrant.

I can see that would be a ideal situation for a lawfare warrior: "No matter what information is found, it can only be used against the bad orange man and not against our friends!"

What errors have been shown?

Why do you think that lawyer ever agreed to having his entire laptop copied? That is when he should have fought turning it over to law enforcement. Now law enforcement has it.They should use it to enforce the law.

I guess the lawyer assumed that the justice department was very friendly to him and his client. So why not trust them with all that lawyer client stuff? Especially if it meant he could help to GET TRUMP!

Now he is learning that what goes around comes around, sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander people who live in glass houses, etc. All those lessons that parents seem not to be teaching their children.Anymore.

No one politicized the FBI more for his own purpose than James Comey. Not since J. Edgar himself.

Maybe you can explain why so many Democrats and "not Democrats" who were conducting lawfare against Trump never stop to think that it could be turned against them?
