How nature-based solutions can save coral reefs

"You don't have to conserve anything that's profitable."
The problem with conservationists is they don't know how to make money, so they don't really know how to do anything at all.
This article inspired me to criticize it. First-off, it doesn't actually tell me anything. (Liberals don't care about results, just stupid feelings)
I want to know what methods and tools are being used to preserve reefs, such as the research done at Aquarius Reef Base. I don't give two shits about "ending poverty so people can focus on conservation."
That's a death-spiral trap that liberals set up to accomplish nothing. The people are still poor, and they still trash their natural resources.
I propose that we develop capitalist methods to incentivize conservancy. For instance, ivory. There's no better way to protect elephants than to create a thriving ivory trade that finances the protection of elephants needed by harvesters who harvest ivory. This whole "illegalize it" and hunt poachers thing obviously doesn't fucking work. Get it?
No one needs to protect cows from being slaughtered, we can't breed enough of them. Illegallize cows and destroy ranches and return them to the wild and they will probably go extinct as poaches wanting some juicy steaks kill the last of them at any cost.
Same with reefs, there's a number of aquaculture technology we are developing. In the South Pacific, Islanders now grow saltwater pearls for export. A brilliant use of natural resources, not that gastropods were ever particularly endangered. Tuna fisheries. Sponge farms. All these things exist.
So why the hell can't we expand that to all the things we want to preserve? Especially reefs? Establishing a native industry that takes care of the reefs because it is beneficial to profiting from the resources harvested from the reefs.
That doesn't mean we can't have national parks and etc, of course we can. It just means this socialist, impoverished, asshat conservancy concept is worthless and DOES NOT GET RESULTS.
