I don't think the free world is rudderless. Either Macron or the new German Chancellor would be a candidate, or the Danish President. Macron is still in power, and strengthened by Trump's election. Carney is providing leadership economically. He's the guy who put the very successful strategy of dumping US Bonds and debt, to fight the tariffs.

Nobody is buying your debt. US banks cut off Donald Trump in 2002. Now the rest of the world is downgrading your credit rating and raising your interest rates on the debt.

The spectacle of Trump being lead out of the press conference while blaming Trudeau for kicking Putin out of the G8 and starting the Ukrainian war, while ranting that the war wouldn't have happened if he was in office. The war had been happening since 2014. He didn't stop it the first time he was in office. He held up aid to the Ukraine for months, which helped Putin.
