A strong social safety net is a requirement for a strong capitalist economy. When I googled that statement, AI told me that this is a matter of some debate. This is why AI cannot be trusted, because there is no debate. This has been the facts and economic reality since the 1930's.

Without a strong social safety net, capitalism becomes Putin's Russia, or Chile - second tier nations, at best. The nations with the STRONGEST social safety nets, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, etc., are far more successful nations with much higher standards of living than your average American.

While the Canadian and American tax rates and median income are similar, Canadians don't have to pay $12,000 or more of their net income for health insurance. There are no "co-pays" for our health insurance, and no medical bankruptcies, and no denial of claims.

Americans are the most unhappy people in the first world, because Republicans keep giving all of the money to the wealthy, via tax cuts. 15 million people will lose health insurance so Jeff Bezos can ride a flying dick into space.

The result is oppression, poverty, no social mobility, 2 class society the rich and the poor, shortages of everything, low quality, and zero innovation. Look at Cub Russia North Korea, Venezuela as examples.

The only way a worker can own equity in a company i in America by buying stock. Many American companies are owned by their workers. You can own stock in any company and share the profits.

It is essentially a waste of time discussing this because adherents to socialism are basically brain dead and/or mentally ill, not knowing the history of it and economic ramifications of it, and least of all, not understanding that Europe is not socialist, even though they have some socialist like policies.

In fact, the greatest threat to the US is it's debt, all brought about by socialistic policies demanding that everything be free.
