I would agree that this is a good analogy - if you acknowledge that this is exactly what happened during the nine years that the DOJ/FBI went after Trump, and everyone around him.

If so, you have a legitimate argument that turn-about is not fair play and that Trump should be restoring the DOJ/FBI to it's core functions of counter-intellegence and crime.

I believe that is exactly what will happen if the next president is somone like Rubio or Cruz. If it is someone like Bondi or Vance, the lawfare will taper off, probably in proportion to how quickly Trump fades from public participation.

If it is a Democrat or "not Democrat," then the FBI will be retooled to go after Republicans, like a former Edsel factory being retooled to make Hyundais, and the cycle of criminalizing political opposition will continue for decades.
