There is much more to getting hired than qualifications, especially in such a high profile position. That is why people are interviewed. They aren’t just assessing your qualifications in an interview.

There are 4 House Republicans who are black, and none of them are running for reelection. All 4 are leaving for various reasons, I believe 2 are running for Governor, the other two I'm not sure why they are leaving.

That will leave Senator Tim Scott as the only black Republican in Washington, D.C., unless the party can find someone else willing to sell their soul.

Plenty of whites do it, so they should be able to find someone.
