The thing is, Reagan really was against tariffs.

The Inflation Reduction Act was a misnomer as it was simply a massive spend and had the adverse domestic impact on inflation. Coupled that with increased regulatory policies on domestic energy companies, US inflation grew 19 percent.

Biden, Harris, and the Democrats did not sit be idle and passive.
Unfortunately, there's no research supporting your assertions. However, in contradiction to one, domestic oil production hit a record high during the Biden admin.

The US is the largest crude oil producer in the world, pumping out nearly 13 million barrels on average every day in 2023, an all-time record, according to new data from the US Energy Information Administration.

Record oil production means nothing to the consumer when prices are high. How does record production benefit the consumer if they are paying $3.50 to $4.00 per gallon?

It means that demand is not being met (despite record production). Increase regulations and restrictions on oil exploration (drilling) and infrastructure expansion are going to add to the cost as well.

NEW SKILL LEVEL ACHIEVED: BONUS LEVEL: DOUBLE RETARDED.

You are pretending to be so retarded that you have not noticed in your entire life that politicians are never able to deliver exactly what they promise.

Bonus level, you are at the same time pretending to be so retarded that you didn't notice, after 10 ******* years of examples, that Trump is notoriously hyperbolic and prone to exaggeration.

in a world where lefties are boldly exploring new levels of retardness everyday, every now and again, a man comes along, that despite the massive high qualitity of the competition, still manages to rise above and out shine all others.

kudos to you Retardedness Maximus.

Have a trophy.

House and Senate Republicans are speaking out against former President Donald Trump's dinner last week with Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, and white nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.

"There is no room in the Republican Party for antisemitism or white supremacy," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday. "And anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view, in my judgment, are highly unlikely to ever be elected president of the United States."

Earlier in the day, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy denounced Fuentes, who is labeled as a white supremacist pundit and organizer by the Anti-Defamation League, in language similar to McConnell's, though he stopped short of condemning the former president.

When did you first realize you had become detached from reality?

How many people were at that dinner?

Trump terminates all U.S. trade negotiations with Canada over Reagan tariffs TV ad

President Donald Trump said Thursday night that he was terminating all trade negotiations with Canada because the Ontario provincial government aired an ad featuring former President Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about tariffs.

Trump’s announcement accused Canada of trying to influence a pending U.S. Supreme Court case that could doom many of his tariffs, including ones on Canada.

His statement came after The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute said that the ad misrepresents a presidential radio address Reagan delivered in April 1987, and that his remarks were edited without permission.

The foundation did not say what was misleading.

Ontario enlists Ronald Reagan against Trump’s tariffs

TORONTO — Ontario is using Ronald Reagan to warn that Donald Trump’s tariffs will cost Americans their jobs.

“We’re going to repeat that message to every Republican district there is right across the entire country,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said this week, teasing the new ad campaign at a Toronto business luncheon.

The one-minute ad excerpts a 1987 radio address by Reagan to justify imposing 100 percent tariffs on Japanese electronics over a trade dispute over semiconductors.

Reagan’s address warned of the long-term economic perils of tariffs on foreign imports sold to Americans as a protectionist policy and explained they were imposed to sort a particular problem — not to begin a trade war.

“But over the long run, such trade barriers hurt every American, worker and consumer,” Reagan narrates in the ad. “High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation by foreign countries and the triggering of fierce trade wars. Then the worst happens. Markets shrink and collapse, businesses and industries shut down and millions of people lose their jobs.”

China’s embassy in Washington notably used the same Reagan clip to troll Trump’s global tariffs when the China-U.S. trade war heated up in the spring.

Don has his extra large shorts in a bunch for being called out (posthumously) by Ron, the patron saint of conservatives. The crux of Reagan's remarks being consumers ultimately bear most of the cost of tariffs. Something the tariff man doesn't like being reminded of.

Tariff costs to companies this year to hit $1.2 trillion, with consumers taking most of the hit, S&P says

Of course, consumers aren't the only ones who get hurt. Just ask the soy bean farmers.

Ohio soybean farmers left high and dry as Trump’s tariff tornado obliterates China market

Are you guys Reagan fans now?

NOt you. You are a lefty. That makes you human scum.
At least you are not argueing that you are a better person than those who have special needs. You realize how disgusting and despicable you are. That is a start.

I have a co-worker who used to teach handicaped children. She is physically fucked up from the beatings she got from them.

I've never beaten a woman, so there is that.

YOu are a leftard asshole.

Does it matter? Another example of the person you are.

It does.

YOu are trying to spin this "dinner" as a sign that Trump personally met and socialized with this man.

If the dinner was a standard, massive political dinner with hundreds of attendees, then that utterly refutes the spin you were trying to do.

Your point about this being an example of what kind of person I am, is correct. ANd it goes both ways.

See, I asked a question about the event, designed to reveal the TRUTH about the event, so that people could be informed about the REALITY of the situation.

YOU, dodged the question, trying to LIE to people, so that you can inflame racial conflict and violence, to DIVIDE people and get them to hate and fear each other.

Our questions and our words do show what kind of people we are.

YOU are clearly a piece of shit.

Reagan had a Cold War world, totally different scenario. Such comparisons are juvenile at best, idiotic at worst.
It's an appeal to authority. They're just trying to say, "See, Reagan was against tariffs, you loved Reagan, so you're supposed to be against tariffs too". Very simplistic, juvenile stuff.

Weren't you the one claiming regulation caused high prices because it lowers supply?

BTW, the price of oil is set on a global market, not one only reflecting supply/demand dynamics in the US.

The more oil that America produces, the lower the global price of oil. Ours costs more to produce, so we only produce more when the price is high. Counter intuitive, I know.

I believe Trump has until next summer for results to be manifested for the 2026 election cycle.

And? Reagan wasn't always correct, as we see here, he was wrong.

If the global market influences the price of market, then how much sense does it make to throw high levels of regulations and restrictions on your domestic energy companies when the global competition does not have the same regulatory constraints?

No. Why do you ask?

Just as you can disagree with Reagan's overall policy positions but agree with his take on tariffs, Republicans can disagree with his take on tariffs but agree with his overall policy positions.

The dinner included Trump, Ye, Fuentes, and a few others, including a political operative. It was not a private one-on-one meeting; there were multiple people present on the back patio of the club.
According to Ye, Trump was "impressed" by Fuentes, but also, the dinner reportedly became tense when Ye asked Trump to be his vice presidential running mate.
