Actual economists across-the-board have agreed that tariffs are inflationary and a bad idea.

You only need to see what happened to US manufacturing during Trump’s last trade war to understand why. Over 200,000 manufacturing jobs were permanently lost and it’s taken years to replace them.

US manufacturing was already in a recession in, BEFORE the pandemic hit. More jobs were off shored under Trump than in the last 4 years of Obama’s administration.

The REAL reason why Canada's trade surplus with the US has gone up SO MUCH since the US-M-CA was signed is that foreign companies looking for an entry into the NA Free trade zone are now locating branch plants and offices in Canada, not the USA.

The primary reason for Canada's growth is the political instability in the USA, and the possibility that Trump might get back into office. Companies have been having difficulty getting executives to move to the USA for YEARS. Health care costs, guns, low quality public schools are the reasons given. Canada is at the top of the Best Countries in the World, to live in.

We tripled our immigration quotas for three years to help fill all of the job openings we have, and exacerbated our housing crisis in doing so, but our economic recovery is 2nd in the G20, and our economy is still growing.
