It shows Americans are willing to pay more taxes as long as they get their goods. I spent some time in another country. They have very high tariffs since they have a very inefficient tax collection system, it results in a very regressive taxation since the poor with very limited income pay a hefty import tax (tariff) while for the wealthy it is a small amount compared to their income. That's what the corrupt trump wants for USA, and in the process pocket billions$ for himself, family and friends...
