The Supreme Court effectively abolishes the right to mass protest in three US states

The right to mass protest requires a permit like many of our rights do. That means you're only allowed to take over the people's streets unless you have a permit.

"Under that lower court decision, a protest organizer faces potentially ruinous financial consequences if a single attendee at a mass protest commits an illegal act."

"It is possible that this outcome will be temporary. The Court did not embrace the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s decision attacking the First Amendment right to protest, but it did not reverse it either. That means that, at least for now, the Fifth Circuit’s decision is the law in much of the American South."

Comment:
The court is correct.
Protesting does not mean being allowed to commit an illegal act.
Why can't the crazy liberal bigots protest without violence and looting?

Reads to me that this could be used to charge Trump for Jan 6.

Exactly.

The SC said that an organizer doesn't have to specifically call for violence. The organizer just has to organize a rally in a disorganized manner, so that violence could possibly result, and that will make the organizer liable.

Trump definitely did that.

Sue him into oblivion. The SC approves.

Did the disrupters on the bridge have a permit? Didn’t think so. They are criminals.
First of all, none of the cases we are discussing involve such.

And second of all, organizers don't condone such, those are individuals in the protests.

The organizers aren't the criminals, the individuals that engage in those acts are the criminals.

The organizers organized a massive disruption in traffic and had no Permit (obviously) to do so. They should be arrested, along with the participants.

IMO? You did not read that Vox article very carefully, or? You are not very aware of Trump's speech in D.C. For his rhetoric was much, MUCH more subdued than Evers, and he was not found liable.

Which protest? What are you talking about? Which case?

What are you talking about? The two MASSIVE, disruptive protests in the leftist cities of Manhattan and San Francisco.

One woman ended up giving birth in the back seat of a Uber because they couldn’t get to the hospital. If that baby had needed immediate medical attention, and died because the antisemites were blocking traffic, they could be charged with involuntary homicide.

Then you charge the person/or folks stopping the ambulance, not the people that organized the protest.

THAT? Is an attack on the first Amendment and America itself.
Make Way for Prince Charming

These bossy misfits have no right to occupy public space. Let them rent a hall.

Sich Sixties SCROTUS loved these brats so much it permitted them to go in-your-face against the normal-people majority, whom the elitist Justices (Just Us) despise with a snobbish contempt.

Nope….you need a permit to organize a bunch of antisemites on the Golden Gate bridge.
