It's in the defendant's favor, to get just 1 juror to hang it, and 12 to convict, as it should be....
But it really bothers me that everyone is saying he can't get a fair jury in NYC.... I'm telling you, first hand, from experience that when a juror is sworn and picked, it is a huge huge huge responsibility on their shoulders to do what is fair and just....even if you despise the defendant.... You listen to the evidence and defense, and want to do the right thing....whatever your decision of guilty or not guilty, you don't make that decision based on your "feelings" about the defendant.... It's on the facts presented in the court room!
There is a slight concern on what a Cult member would do because I've never encountered that when serving on a jury, BUT I would guess that they too, will listen to and see the evidence presented and do the right thing....!

Yes, some times, the system fails, but 99% of the time, it does not.
