The State of Our Disunion

It seems that we are in a precarious state of our disunion not seen since the Civil War. Half of our country believes that the last national election was fraudulent, and even more believe that our President is not competent to fulfill the duties of his office and may be a threat to our national security.

In the waning days of an otherwise successful presidency, this might have been considered a minor hiccup in the continuing flow of our democracy. But barely a year into our President's first term, we are being confronted with intractable problems for which no solutions seem practicable. And even if there were, half of the country would oppose them for partisan reasons.

So what does that portend for the future of our country? Regrettably, history suggests hostile conflict with one side eventually imposing its will on the other. Even more disturbingly, it is usually a small group from within the victorious side which takes authoritarian control in the aftermath of this conflict.

The only alternative to this eventuality is peaceful separation. But this is a rare occurrence where money and power are involved.

There will be a separation at some point.

It don't look good, I will say that. But I don't see a peaceful separation as a possibility though, how do you separate the progressive liberal big cities from the rest of the state they're in that is much more conservative? If you look at a map of America where each congressional district is painted red or blue, that map would be predominately red, so how do you separate the blue enclaves from the red when they are intermixed?

You know the axiom that basically says the triumph of evil can't happen unless good men do nothing? Well, right now too many good people are doing nothing, so one possibility is that the Far Left eventually takes over the federal gov't and drastically changes everything to a 1-party rule. IMHO, we came close to that in 2021, and if Manchin and Sinema had not cooperated with the other democrats then this country would be quite different now and in the future. Sooner or later I can see that possibility happening and America takes a hard Left turn into self-destruction.

BUT - there is an awful lot of people out there in fly-over country that will eventually revolt, and in some cases not peacefully. I think whoever the democrat in charge is at the time will declare Emergency Powers and use our military against the rebels. And that doesn't end well for anybody.

I think such a scenario is at least possible if not likely. How long can we go on like we are now? I do not believe the Far Left progressive socialists will ever go away, they will keep agitating and at some point will again have control of the WH and the Congress and this time there won't be anyone to stop them from ruining this country for good.

No, I don't think so.

At least, the Federal government, that has always been and always will be controlled by the DNC, will not allow it.

I can see, however, pockets of the population maybe learning to live off the grid, etc.

The 17th Amendment was designed for the chaos we see today.

I don't see the 17th amendment as a solution if the democrats can control the elections in every state. And what if they admit Puerto Rico and DC as new states? Will the GOP ever again have a Senate majority?

No surprise, since so many now equate communication and collaboration with capitulation. Afraid to work together to create new ideas, like our Constitution.

This would be a self-inflicted wound, nurtured and enabled by people with a vested professional interest in dividing us. They certainly have the advantage right now.

Secession Will Clear the Deck

The ruling class in the Red States won't secede. They are connected to the Blueblood States ruling class at birth. So, like the Tories in 1776, they will skedaddle to their classmates in the Blue-State Union.

Populists despise both ideologies. That's where the Wolverines will come from.

Stand Up and You Will See That the Path Is Clear

The elitists are too weak to stop it. Their force is all in the people's minds.
