“What the hell am I watching right now?” an unnamed Trump adviser told Rolling Stone.

“It’s one of our biggest disasters ever,” another unnamed Republican strategist told the Daily Beast.

Delivering the official State of the Union response can be a thankless task, as the former Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal and the Florida senator Marco Rubio, deliverers of previously panned speeches, would ruefully attest.

Nonetheless, the 42-year-old Alabama senator is a rising Republican star, widely respected on Capitol Hill and her selection to respond to Biden was a golden opportunity to introduce herself to the wider American electorate.

In his address Biden used his bully pulpit effectively, attacking Republicans in a fiery speech and inviting a strong response. But Britt’s speech, delivered with overt theatricality, oscillating in tone between the wholesome and the wholly horrific, did not land well even in her own party.

Charlie Kirk, founder of the far-right Turning Point USA youth group, said: “I’m sure Katie Britt is a sweet mom and person, but this speech is not what we need. Joe Biden just declared war on the American right and Katie Britt is talking like she’s hosting a cooking show, whispering about how Democrats ‘dont get it’.”

Look at the line up of clown like characters that are right wing politicians . Britt fits right in. The only possible reason I think this can happen. Is the rights choice of making it a point that education in red sates are a disaster. Literally 90% of the states that are poorly educated are red states. I assume they chose this route because they perceive ignorance as being helpful keep them stupid so they will vote for them. Any listing of state ranking of education will support what I'm saying, and unless , someone can tell us why red sates education is a joke across the country other then what I've said , so here is your chance please jump right in and share your points with us.

In my humble opinion, rather than going on the Sunday talk-shows to 'clean-up' her remarks she should apologize to the American public, to the viewers of her speech.

Apologize for the deceptive and misleading description of the trafficked victim.

Senator Britt 'trafficked' the victim once again. She should be ashamed. She made the GOP look bad. She made the Senate look bad. She made Alabama look bad.

Whoever advised her, coached her, scripted her......needs be called out so that we all know who it is that thinks deceiving citizens is OK as long as it makes their political point.

If Britt's career and reputation is now devalued, so be it. There are consequences in life. She should have used better judgement. Most especially as a Senator of the United States of America.
