At first they weren't. Then Russia erected the Iron Curtain and began behaving belligerently towards its allies, violating the promises made in treaties to its allies so by 1947 the bases WERE there to protect Germany and the rest of Europe against Russia.
This is again a common lie for cattle. They were not there against the USSR.
Actually, it was a good thing for Europe and the USA. A united Germany is a good foil against Russian Imperialism. It also curbed West Germany's economic dominance of Europe by forcing it to turn its resources to repairing the damage done by the Russians inside East Germany.I have no idea why the elder Bush allowed the illegal anschluss of the GDR, it was always against the interests of Republicans and the United States. But it was a disaster for the United States
Your map is very out of date. There are no US troops in Iraq or Afghanistan and with the ending of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the numbers of troops in the other countries have declined.
There is the largest presence in Eurasia. (now minus Afghanistan)
It started with the Caribbean crisis, but it's not Russia's fault. Kennedy seized power and the United States began leftist terror. At first they weren't. At that time, there were forces loyal to the United States in RF in powerActually, it was a good thing for Europe and the USA. A united Germany is a good foil against Russian Imperialism. Kennedy didn't seize power, he was elected. As in most elections there were some shady actions by both sides, but the election was largely fair and open Chicago aside. It started with the Caribbean crisis, but it's not Russia's fault. Kennedy seized power and the United States began leftist terror.
But relations got better under Nixon.
The Russians were NEVER loyal to the USA or any of the WAllies for that matter. Stalin used the WAllies and immediately reneged on his agreements made at Teheran and Yalta about the future of the countries that became the Warsaw Pact. The East Germans chose to join West Germany, so it was anything but an illegal seizure. If you want illegal seizures, look at Hungary in 1956 and Czechoslovakia in 1968 where Russia sent in troops to reconquer countries that wanted out of the Warsaw pact.At that time, there were forces loyal to the United States in RF in power
And German unification was never allowed. Besides, it was an illegal seizure
Lies.Yeltsin was loyal to the United States, he destroyed all communists and began the privatization of state property. Then Clinton came and supported the left side. It was he who raised a modern centralist United Russia in the Russian FederationThe Russians were NEVER loyal to the USA
No he wasn't, he just realized that communism had failed, and the USSR couldn't afford to remain communist.Lies.Yeltsin was loyal to the United States, he destroyed all communists and began the privatization of state property. Then Clinton came and supported the left side. It was he who raised a modern centralist United Russia in the Russian Federation
What are you, ten years old? You are either massively ignorant or a compulsive liar. In the months you've been posting, you've managed to not post a single accurate thing. That's quite an accomplishment for the amount of posts you have made. Here is a simple explanation from Wikki:Stalin was also loyal to the United States, only not to the right, but to the communists of Roosevelt. They were both Churchill's dogs

What makes you think closing those bases would save the U.S. any money?
In fact it would cost the U.S. billions to replace the logistics centers in German with something else
We have 14 or 15 bases in Germany. I think 2 or 3 bases could handle the logistics needs.
Are you even remotely aware of what those logistics needs might be?
A guy that grew up down the road from my parents house was saved by the quick medical attention he got at the massive Ramstein Air Base hospital.
What makes you think those bases still exist serving that function? The hospitals would stay. I am talking about the baes built to serve as a line of defense against an enemy that no longer exists.
