The South and the Civil War

At what cost?

The constitution defines treason. It’s warring on fellow Americans. He was a traitor who should have been hung in 1861.

Lincoln started the descent into tyranny. Now we’re just about about there.

The South stupidly seceded
The South stupidly fired the first shot
The South stupidly thought they would win

Ya just ignore the fact that South Carolina attacked Federal troops first and that the south raised armies before the north.

Shouldn't we hold Yankee factory owners and whaling ships converted to the more lucrative slave trade liable for hanging? Slavery existed in the North for 200 years. Sherman was a pyromaniac who thought he was "God's terrible swift sword" when he burned Atlanta He should have been indicted as a war criminal but he was lauded as a hero. . Democrats still make a profit off about 12 million illegal aliens who live in virtual slavery in the US today

I have seen a lot of dems online, arguing against deporting illegals, because we "need" them for economic reasons.

The lack of self awareness is complete.

Lol. You never learn.

Sumter was a SC fort occupied by a foreign power. The Union closed all federal facilities in the South without violence except for Sumter, which you know Lincoln tried to deceive SC. No one was killed or injured in the bombardment, but you think a war killing and destroying was warranted.

You know the truth, but refuse to accept it. This is an example of mental illness. Dumb ****!

The same dumb arguments repeated over and over, even though they’ve been repeatedly proven fraudulent.

It is true

The South overreacted to the election of Lincoln and listened to the reactionaries
It was a stupid decision that led to 600,000 deaths

Sumter was federal territory and never belonged to S Carolina.
Rather than negotiate its transfer, the South chose to bombard it with cannon fire…an act of war

Another stupid move from Southern reactionaries that gave the north a reason to go to war.

Keep in mind, Jefferson Davis was NEVER indicted for treason, or anything else. Curious, isn't it?

The reason was that the U.S. President(s) feared that if he were tried for treason and appealed - which he surely would have - the USSC might find that the Confederate States had the right to secede, thus making the Civil War a northern atrocity.

There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits any State from leaving the Union which it voluntarily entered.

California, are you reading this?

wrong as usual the court ruled the south had no right to leave the union and that it takes an act of congress to do so,

And yet all federal installations throughout the seceding states were relinquished without a shot fired. Only one wasn’t because Dishonest Abe needed it as pretense for war, to dupe fools like you and the retarded MFer RetiredGySgt

But you know all this…yet you chose to ignore it.

Still Federal Property

How STUPID was it for S Carolina to fire on a federal fort?
How did they expect that one to turn out?

No it wasn’t and the federal government knew it. Do you know how many federal installations were relinquished throughout the south peacefully? They knew they weren’t federal property after the states voted to secede.

wrong they were ceded because the military was too small and didn't occupy those other places all the forts that were occupied remained in federal hands along the gulf coast

More to the point: the concern was he would be ACQUITED.
