I think this is a good thread, I really do, but I would like to explain something-----------_> When you have almost 60% of the population agreeing with you and are chomping at the bit to vote, unless you are in a tight race locally, you say NOTHING! All you do is run ads that reinforce the perception of what Americans perceive is going on.

Instead of getting on a stage to let your opponent get their message out while only under mild duress, make them go talk to the people to get said message out. Then send a video crew to the meeting, tape them being screamed at by all the people that are pi**sed, and now you have another political commercial!

Politics 101! When your opponent(s) have shot themselves in the foot, you do NOT help them bandage it up.

This thread is based on a false premise. Withdrawing from the presidential debate commission do not equate to no debates. It is simply objecting to who is running them.

Here is how the debates should be run (for two candidates). Each candidate gets to take turns talking for a max of 90 seconds with the other candidates turned off, but each candidate has a button to press if he wants to end his time early for the other to speak. This goes on with a back and forth conversation/debate between the candidates for a hour or so.

This could work for the debates between the democrat and republican candidates that win their parties' nomination. Primary debates when there are 20 people in the field is a different animal.
