Lies about guns being ‘banned’ and Second Amendment rights being ‘taken away’ are not new, of course; conservatives have been propagating such lies for years.
Jones used baseless, unwarranted fears of ‘bans’ and rights being ‘taken away’ as a foundation for his lie that the Sandy Hook massacre was a ‘hoax’ in a ridiculous, dishonest, and wrongheaded effort to prevent ‘bans’ that never took place.
Indeed, the notion that mass shootings and other acts of gun crime and violence would result in ‘bans,’ ‘confiscations,’ and rights being ‘taken away’ is completely devoid of merit – yet another example of rightwing fearmongering and lies.
