When you're correct as often as I am, you may feel more free to butt in.You butt in and answer many questions yourself, so, what is your point
Only nuclear can produce the energy we need. Wind and Solar are nothing but a scam to make rich people rich as well as the politiciansWhen you're correct as often as I am, you may feel more free to butt in.
Do you have some of that basic physics the OP claimed existed that would actually show that contention to be true? Or do you find as I do that basic physics actually shows that statement to be demonstrably false?Only nuclear can produce the energy we need. Wind and Solar are nothing but a scam to make rich people rich as well as the politicians
Dont need physics.Just need to be on top of the news. All them there bankruptcies kind of tell the story. Living amongst wind turbined, seeing them torn fown and replaced 3 or 4 times helps. Or simply understanding they are unreliable.Do you have some of that basic physics the OP claimed existed that would actually show that contention to be true? You said "Only nuclear can produce the energy we need". Do you have any evidence to support that statement?Dont need physics.Just need to be on top of the news. Yes,You said "Only nuclear can produce the energy we need". Do you have any evidence to support that statement?
No, apparently you do not. This could easily be an advertisement for solar panels. Or wind turbines.
let's start with our own gub'mit sources Crick.....You said "Only nuclear can produce the energy we need". Do you have any evidence to support that statement?
Morning Sparky.let's start with our own gub'mit sources Crick.....

Morning Sparky.
We were actually looking for "basic physics", as the OP promises, that will show that nothing but nuclear power can produce all the power humans need. What you have there is an informative article, but presents no basic physics supporting the contention of the OP or poster Elektra.
Now, I haven't brought this up as I thought it a little too obvious, but how exactly did we power ourselves prior to June 27, 1954 when the world's first nuclear power plant opened; the Soviet Union's Obninsk Nuclear Power Plant? I recall their being usable light bulbs and electric motors and washing machines for quite a few years before that: actually since the opening of Thomas Edison's Pearl Street Station in New York City in 1882.
You never accept anything as valid. You asked what proof there is that nuclear power cant provide the power that nuclear does. The proof is night timeNo, apparently you do not. This could easily be an advertisement for solar panels. Or wind turbines.
Solar can use battery backup and the wind blows somewhere 24/7. There IS no reason that wind and solar could not power the entire planet. You never accept anything as valid. You asked what proof there is that nuclear power cant provide the power that nuclear does. The proof is night time
The idea that you can efficiently, economically transmit power 12000 miles is ridiculous, not to mention you would never be able to have a sufficient number of wind turbines at every spot the wind blows to power the entire world.the wind blows somewhere 24/7.
Solar can use battery backup and the wind blows somewhere 24/7. There IS no reason that wind and solar could not power the entire planet.
Run the entire world on a battery? Anither wishful, dreamSolar can use battery backup
Cost, limited space, depletion of natural resourcesThere IS no reason that wind and solar could not power the entire planet.
Michael Shellengberger championed renewables under Obama. So Obama invested some 400 billion+ into renewables. I know, what an idiot. The only people who continue to promote wind/solar are those who are ignorant of basic physics.
They're ignorant of a fuckton more than just physics.
Is the battery back up affordable, what's it's size etc.., what's the life span of the battery, and what's the environmental damage caused to manufacture the battery? If it caught fire, what pollution level will it cause?Solar can use battery backup and the wind blows somewhere 24/7. There IS no reason that wind and solar could not power the entire planet.
