The only people who continue to promote wind/solar are those who are ignorant of basic physics. Only nuclear can produce the levels of energy we need

Only nuclear can produce the energy we need. Wind and Solar are nothing but a scam to make rich people rich as well as the politicians
Do you have some of that basic physics the OP claimed existed that would actually show that contention to be true? Or do you find as I do that basic physics actually shows that statement to be demonstrably false?

Dont need physics.Just need to be on top of the news. All them there bankruptcies kind of tell the story. Living amongst wind turbined, seeing them torn fown and replaced 3 or 4 times helps. Or simply understanding they are unreliable.

You said "Only nuclear can produce the energy we need". Do you have any evidence to support that statement?

Morning Sparky.

We were actually looking for "basic physics", as the OP promises, that will show that nothing but nuclear power can produce all the power humans need. What you have there is an informative article, but presents no basic physics supporting the contention of the OP or poster Elektra.

Now, I haven't brought this up as I thought it a little too obvious, but how exactly did we power ourselves prior to June 27, 1954 when the world's first nuclear power plant opened; the Soviet Union's Obninsk Nuclear Power Plant? I recall their being usable light bulbs and electric motors and washing machines for quite a few years before that: actually since the opening of Thomas Edison's Pearl Street Station in New York City in 1882.

Coal, natural gas, petroleum and hydro.

No, apparently you do not. This could easily be an advertisement for solar panels. Or wind turbines.
You never accept anything as valid. You asked what proof there is that nuclear power cant provide the power that nuclear does. The proof is night time

Solar can use battery backup and the wind blows somewhere 24/7. There IS no reason that wind and solar could not power the entire planet.

the wind blows somewhere 24/7.
The idea that you can efficiently, economically transmit power 12000 miles is ridiculous, not to mention you would never be able to have a sufficient number of wind turbines at every spot the wind blows to power the entire world.

Crick, you just prove you have no technical knowledge. Just a wishful dream

Those who support wind turbines and solar do so in the dark spewing a lot of hot air.

See what I dud there. A clever pun

The only people who continue to promote wind/solar are those who are ignorant of basic physics.

They're ignorant of a fuckton more than just physics.
Michael Shellengberger championed renewables under Obama. So Obama invested some 400 billion+ into renewables. I know, what an idiot.

Then reality caught up with Shellenberger and he now champions nuclear instead.

But if it's pointed out to Alarmists, they blank Shellenberger.

Is the battery back up affordable, what's it's size etc.., what's the life span of the battery, and what's the environmental damage caused to manufacture the battery? If it caught fire, what pollution level will it cause?
