I think that anyone who votes only for one party or the other is stupid. I vote for the person I think will do the best job, no matter what their political affiliation.

And...............I like to do research on the 'net and from watching the political pundit shows (Meet the Press is one of my favorite, because they get people from both sides to debate and are fairly civil about it).

I don't vote for a person simply because of their party, I vote for the person I think has the best ideas.

To vote party over person is to be a sheep.

Apparently, you've never served onboard a U.S. Navy vessel, because it is VERY MUCH different than working for a public company. In addition to your designated job, you also have to cover things like clean up, fire party, bridge watches, as well as any other collateral (meaning extra) duties that you are qualified for.

If you go to sea for 6 months and are only at 85 percent manning, your workload goes up by anywhere from 20 to 40 percent. And, if the manning is too low (below 75 percent), the ship is considered unfit for deployment because you don't have enough people to man all the stations required for deployment.

And no, you don't get overtime pay in the military.
