The 'new' reason to get rid of the Electoral College?

It's 'racist'.

The author of the article starts off by showing us that he doesn't know what kind of government the U.S. has...

"Now, it seems we have given up on the very idea of a one-person, one-vote democratic republic..."

Nope, you (author of linked article) lose, it is and always has been a representative democracy or representative republic.

Here's a list of some Democratic Republics:

Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, North Korea, Algeria, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen...

So, again, as much as I dislike Trump, the idea that we would do away with the Electoral College and essentially allow the people of California and New York decide who runs this country is equally as distasteful.

Now THERE'S a SHOCK....NOT! These maniacs are so predictable and are getting very boring, they are a boring broken record and need to be FORCED to either be NORMAL or STFU.
For Liberals, this is foreplay.

Electoral college isn’t racist in intent. Does disadvantage minorities though by the fact sparsely populated over represented states are lacking diversity.

However since they are big parts of fewer states you could argue AA’s have more power than otherwise.

The ‘old’ reasons remain perfectly valid as to amending the Constitution to eliminate the EC.

The EC is an anachronism, for more than 100 years a state’s geographic size no longer reflects the size of its population.

And the EC no longer follows the Framers’ original intent that an elector in good faith may vote to not reflect his state’s vote.

Needless to say, the right’s unwarranted opposition to amending the Constitution to elect a president by popular vote has everything to do with the 2000 and 2016 General Elections and nothing to do with the facts.

You're just butthurt.

Funny how the EC was fine with you idiot children when Obama was elected.

How is a building racist................pun intended .......lol

You guys need to pass the shit you are smoking around before posting.

Climate change is racist. COVID-19 is racist. Movies are racist. Statues are racist. So, logic would dictate the Electoral College to be racist.

What ISN’T racist these days? Hey, I don’t like something or someone who does not think like I do, time to pull the racist card to get what I want.
