The market appears not to believe him.

No you really don’t. You would have just explained it by now.
There are at least three different interpretations of what it is. Primarily it is control of the economy but really no way of implementing the hypothetical paradise that youngsters envision. The best example I could give as to what it would be like is our school system which is an abject failure.

It will be nice to recoup some of those $$$ wasted on paying the highest fuel prices in the history of the nation and the 30% inflation under Biden. Thank you President Trump!
So you refuse to acknowledge that trump's brokering of OPEC+ played no role in supply, thus higher gas prices.

If you were a cartoonist you probably couldn't get the pencils/pens out of your well travelled ass.
If you were a cartoonist Trump would tell you that you only need one pencil/pen and it is going to cost the same amount as 25.

Trump’s a useless sack of dog shit. He has the emotional maturity and intelligence of an 8th grader and his cult following idiot supporters are too stupid to see it. America has become so embarrassing
Billy, bags of dog shit are useful. :smoochEE:
Many a times I have done this to MAGAs. Yes I know who the MAGAs are. They had Trump signs in their yard, and some have bumper stickers.

I paint my nude body with commando style coloring and hide in the bushes wearing night vision goggles and a ball gag in my mouth. So hilarious, but I do not want to be heard. Billy, when I run, my 32Bs are taught. Very little jiggle.

The economy is already under control. If you think this is about eliminating capitalism you are dead wrong.

Your school system was the greatest success in the world, and that's why Republicans had to destroy the public education system. Using the guise of "parental rights" and "school choice", Republicans redirected tax dollars from the public school system to a "voucher" system for wealthy parents to receive a subsidy for segregated private schools, over integrated public schools.

Now, you have the most expensive school system in the world, and your post secondary schools are the best that money can buy, but your public primary and secondary schools' test results are falling behind the rest of the world, as your investment in public school education declines in your poorest jursidictions.

Trump says 10% is floor for tariffs; ‘Some will be much higher’

President Donald Trump on Thursday said that 10% will be the floor for his tariffs on imports from other countries that seek to reach trade agreements with the United States.

“Some will be much higher because they have massive trade surpluses and in many cases they didn’t treat us right,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

Trump’s comment came as he discussed a new trade agreement with the United Kingdom.

During that Oval Office event, Trump’s Truth Social account said that U.S. tariffs on imports from the UK will remain at the baseline 10% rate that he imposed on most countries in the world in early April.

Put another way, nothing he says can be believed. Nothing. He's gone back on his word too many times for anyone to take what he says day to day as the final word. That's a problem, as one can imagine. But then most people realize criminals can't be trusted.

After all, he blew up a N. American trade deal he made himself.

If I were a political cartoonist I'd draw a picture of Bessent standing beside Don when he makes these reckless comments with a bubble over Bessent's head reading, "just shut the fuck up for goodness sake."

Why would he want to be predictable? When your opposition knows what you're going to do it has no surprise value. Let them sweat

Because international businesses need stability and predicitability in both supply lines, and markets in order to make a decision on the financial viability of a new production plant, that's why.

If you need aluminum from Canada to package your craft beer, you want to know that what the price is going to be, long term, and to know if you'll be able to market your product in other countries if you expand.

The market for American cars in Europe is limited because the streets are narrower, and gas costs more than $8 a gallon on good day. Your large SUV's are only practical on the highways, and their mileage and carbon emissions don't meet European standards, because the US government told them they didn't have to comply with European standards.

The EU has strict rules on GMO foods, growth hormones and antibiotics in the meat and dairy, as well as the use of pesticides, while the US government has protected Monsanto and others from law suits from lawsuits from both farmers and consumers.

If the USA wants to do business with the rest of the world, you need to raise your standards because we sure as hell don't want to lower ourselves to yours.
