The market appears not to believe him.

If you were too stupid to understand that the market is not anticipating the 10% tariffs stay in place then I can't help you.
The market is in the business of anticipating. BFD

Trump says 10% is floor for tariffs; ‘Some will be much higher’

President Donald Trump on Thursday said that 10% will be the floor for his tariffs on imports from other countries that seek to reach trade agreements with the United States.

“Some will be much higher because they have massive trade surpluses and in many cases they didn’t treat us right,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

Trump’s comment came as he discussed a new trade agreement with the United Kingdom.

During that Oval Office event, Trump’s Truth Social account said that U.S. tariffs on imports from the UK will remain at the baseline 10% rate that he imposed on most countries in the world in early April.

Put another way, nothing he says can be believed. Nothing. He's gone back on his word too many times for anyone to take what he says day to day as the final word. That's a problem, as one can imagine. But then most people realize criminals can't be trusted.

After all, he blew up a N. American trade deal he made himself.

If I were a political cartoonist I'd draw a picture of Bessent standing beside Don when he makes these reckless comments with a bubble over Bessent's head reading, "just shut the fuck up for goodness sake."
No one gives a shit that you can’t get over the fact that Trump is POTUS.

I literally burst into tears reading the above. Such a sad story.

Trump is implementing the policies he promoted on the campaign trail. Your guys' only 'policy' is 'Orange Man Bad!' No one takes you seriously. Just a reminder: Trump WON....Kamala LOST. Get used to it. Americans rejected your TWO candidates, Biden and Kamala. The Democrat Party is currently DEAD. :boohoo:

Oh now you are a Market mind reader? You are such a loser.

The dow crashed 2200 points in 2 days, something that has never happened in our history, because Trump announced tariffs. When Trump announced a pause that's when stocks shot back up. It's pretty much a guarantee at this point the market will react negatively at the announcement of further tariffs or a continuation of Trump's tariff policy. 🤷‍♀️

Either America or China will win. Those who side with China are NOT your friend. The CCP and their intelligence services are a formidable adversary. Unless the West recruits the best and brightest, the sharpest, most noble and patriotic, the West WILL lose. All liberties.and concepts of the individual with natural G-d given rights will be extinguished.

I made money. Sounds like you bet on the wrong horse.

Brilliant, you may want to pay attention to the news....dumbass.

A 10% tariff isn't much as products go, but it does raise significant revenue.

Using cars as an example, the US buys 16,000,000 cars a year. Tariffs on foreign cars makes US cars more affordable. The UAW loves Trump's tariffs.

Assuming that the $10T in new manufacturing plants happens, Trump's tariffs will be fully justified. It will take years to see how all of this shakes out.
It is a tax increase on us, and can't be done without congress.

Tariffs are the same as taxes in the Constitution and Trump can't raise taxes or tariffs on us....that is a constitutional act/power delegated to congress....

Far too complex a subject for a not so bright Troll Bot like you .

When the Sun shines brightly you claim that global warming brings drought and famine .

When it rains incessantly you then claim that climate catastrophe brings destruction and famine .

The mutterings of a Weasel and Thought Luddite .

/---/ The reaction is mixed.
He's not sure about all the tariffs but favors those for his industry.

Fain referred to last Wednesday's announcement of global tariffs as "reckless," but firmly supports an earlier round of tariffs on the U.S. auto industry. Those tariffs both help and hurt U.S. auto companies, because they produce so much in Canada and Mexico. Auto parts typically cross the border multiple times as a car is assembled. GM has already said it will move some production back to Indiana — but Stellantis ordered layoffs.
