I feel it safe to say you and me are not eager to put convicts to death. But they managed to kill others knowing this could easily happen to them. They are not shocked at the death penalty. I would not even call it a penalty. Death is certain, locked in cages is not certain. And i don't see how it improves criminals anyway.

I like the German system they invented where inmates are put into a college style facility and taught how to live and not commit crimes.
