I (and most on the left) oppose the death penalty because it doesn’t work and is misapplied. How many murderous cops have been executed? Pretty much zero.

As for the guy who killed the CEO...a fragment of the left stupidly embraces this murderer.

It definitely works. They never commit another crime, killing people or raping young women, again, no longer having to be guarded, no upkeep for food or housing or prison maintenance. I think the healthcare CEO murderer deserves such a fate, as he has earned it.

It is a deterrent to those that truly do not want to be put to death, themselves. And, the guy that is put to death, is definitely deterred from committing the crime, again. 1/3 to 1/5 of people that simply go to prison, get out and comitt further crimes, sending them back to prison, for 3 hots and a cot, free food, TV and paid security. Not so, of those, whose repeated crimes, see them executed, ending their inhuman criminal activity, permanently.
