The Indictment of Former President Trump Is An Abuse of Prosecutorial Power For Political Purposes – The Motive Is Clear on Its Face

You are, apparently, unfamiliar with American jurisprudence.

Here, in the U.S.A., no one is above the law, and after a grand jury determines evidence is sufficient for prosecution, an indictment is issued.

A jury of the defendant's peers is presented with that evidence, and the defendant's attorney(s) attempt(s) to refute or mitigate the evidence

The jury then deliberates, and a verdict is issued.

A presumption of innocence pertains, unless and until a verdict of guilty is issued.

Call me a patriot, but we Americans find this approach works very well, and are justly proud of it.
Only if defendants are Conservative Republicans. Democrats get off scott-free, moron.

Being stupid and arrogant, even if true, is no reason to be charged with a crime you didn’t commit.

And if you vindictive leftists weren’t so busy jumping up and down with glee over the idea that the current administration is trying to imprison their key political opponent, you’d know that refusing to turn over classified documents is a CIVIL offense. That’s why the DOJ came up with the idea to charge him with the Espionage Act.
If what you say is fact then surly you can provide case law and citations substantiating your statement that "refusing to turn over classified documents is a civil offense".

I look forward to perusing your production.

It’s the same statute that says one can set up an illegal server in one’s home that houses classified information, and when the government subpoenas it, you can bleachbit it to smitherseens.

You`ve talked to God? Lucky you. It`s hard for us older people to find LSD these days.
Orange kool-aid is much easier to find.

Wow! The cry baby's paranoia-induced enuresis is now even caused by mutants!

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said of former President Trump’s indictment that “the emperor has no clothes” and that Republicans should say so.
Bacon told reporters... that the former president’s wrongdoing is “obvious” and Republicans must be honest about it.

The Cry Baby Loser's bum kissers are an invasive species that has befouled the GOP, a party founded in 1854, since 2016.

The whiny RINOs of Trumpery are a hoot!

This ^^^.

Prosecution of Donald Trump represents flagrant hypocrisy in this context.

It is NOT "prosecutorial discretion", it is ABUSE OF THE LAW.

No one cares about a few measly folders, compared to 33,000 documents sitting on an unprotected server in someone's bathroom.

Same bullshit with the Summer of Love. 4 billion dollars worth of damage and only an 11% prosecution rate and 3% convictions.

And we haven't even mentioned the corrupt fucktards in the FBI.

SORRY, your bleating doesn't wash. Lefties are ABUSING THE LAW, it is abundantly clear to the whole entire world.

The stupid leftards are making a mockery of the law and destroying it's integrity, and they're going to be very sorry they ever went down the Stalinist path.

IKR? It’s surreal to me how the libtards can go over and over about Trump not returning a classified document he was legally allowed to take while ignoring:

1) The tons of classified documents Biden had stashed in his office building, his home, his garage - and dating back to when he was a Senator and had to right to remove them from the SCIF, and

2) The classified information the Hildabeast had on the illegal server she stored in her private home, and then bleachbit it beyond recapture when it was subpoenaed as evidence, and

3) Evidence by a credible witness that Biden took a $5 million bribe and facilitated another $5 million bribe to his drug Addict son, and then followed the directions on the document to set up shell companies and distribute the funds to various Biden family members.

The ONLY reason that is true is because you dems werent able to get your knee on his neck, but youre trying to hard as fuck right now and you have been for years. You DESPERATELY want a Chauvin situation but you havent managed to pull it off.

Or...... because what Special Counsel Jack Smith has offered Trump is due process.

Name a charge that Trump has been indicted for that you believe Biden, Pence, or Hillary should have been indicated for?

Please be specific. You'll find this is where your list and argument breaks.

It's a phrase we've heard a lot, especially by Republicans, and especially after the January 6 insurrection and now again after the federal indictment of Trump. The fact that both instances included crimes against the United States of America matters not to these people. The first instance was clearly an attempted coup and overthrow of the Constitution of the United States. The second, the refusal to turn over to the United States documents spelling out some of the most important secrets of our country, while storing them in a bathroom and ballroom, is considered to be perfectly proper.

Both of these criminal situations are considered to be entirely proper by Republicans and should require no criminal inference by the Justice Department.

So, aside from these two instances, what has the Justice Department done that would be considered "weaponization?" I would love to see some examples please.

Brooding endlessly over supposed transgressions that one feels should have been prosecuted does not impact current indictments,

Such attempted diversions are futile.

The Trump Justice Department's inability to contrive any case against Hillary Clinton, and the present inability to contrive charges against Pence or Biden, in no way impacts the 37 counts of an indictment recommended by a grand jury.

Apparently, nobody else refused to return documents, wantonly showed them to others, hid them, or relegated them to bathroom reading under a crystal chandelier.

Attempting to deflect from the fact that different standards of law enforcement by the FBI are applied depending on whether one is a Democrat or Republican is a travesty of justice and isn’t going to work with DECENT American voters.

In this country, we don’t (or we didn’t until leftists weaponized the government) allow some people to commit crimes without being charged and others who commit lesser civil infractions get threatened with life in prison.

As was inevitable, the whiny bitch is having another pissy tantrum.

I hope these public servants and their families are not threatened by Trump goons as has happened previously when the spoiled brat has thrown his irrational, egomaniacal hissyfits.

Trump ... blasted the man who oversaw his indictment as a "deranged lunatic!"

"He's a raging and uncontrolled Trump-hater,
as is his wife!"
As part of his strategy to discredit the investigation, Trump has repeatedly gone after Smith and his wife...
Trump's repeated attacks on Smith and his family follow a familiar pattern of his lashing out at those leading probes into his conduct.
His inflammatory comments about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the judge overseeing his hush-money criminal case in New York prompted questions about whether a gag order would be issued.
"Trump has done this with [New York Attorney General] Letitia James, he has done this with [Fulton County District Attorney] Fani Willis, just every prosecutor that's investigated him," Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, told ABC News. James has sued Trump for alleged fraud and Willis is looking into Trump's efforts to interfere with the presidential election in Georgia.
Trump slammed Smith as a "thug" and accused him of doing "political hit jobs."
Various legal experts have pushed back on claims by Trump and GOP congressional allies that the Smith's prosecution is political "weaponization" of the Justice Department.
"His main focus as a prosecutor is, 'Can I prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt?' And what we've seen with him, just looking at who he's prosecuted, he's prosecuted people in all parties," Steve Friedland, a law professor at Elon University and a former federal prosecutor, said of Smith.
Former colleagues of Smith lauded his experience and temperament in previous interviews with ABC News, with one calling him "completely apolitical."
"This is someone that is not doing this for political reasons," Rahmani said. "There's plenty of evidence to support these charges."
What an embarrassment for the United States!

Everyone got treated the same.

Trump wasn't charged for any of the classified documents he returned.

Pence wasn't charged for any of the classified documents he returned.

Hillary wasn't charged for any of the classified info she returned.

Biden wasn't charged for any of the classified documents that he returned.

It was perfectly consistent.
