1. An initial conviction of a crime does not mean immediate incarceration. People found guilty in most cases are 'free on appeal', unless the judge deems the defendant a flight risk, or a danger to society...Sounds like you'd like that changed.
2. The jury is NOT the final say. Often they get their determinations wrong, which is why we have an appeals process...
3. The initial guilty finding ALWAYS is under appeal unless there is a perfect case with no grounds....That is so rare, that I in my lifetime have never seen it....
