Genesis, Chapter 3. This chapter does not address the nutrition value of plants. It addresses obedience, and the knowledge of both good and evil.

Here we get into God's Perfect/Sovereign will and God's permissive will. The first deals with God's plan of salvation and end plans. The second, God permits free will, natural events, things of that nature.

Both Catholic and Judaism encourage personal study based on scholarly study. Where many Protestant churches differ is that each individual can decide for him/herself what a scripture verse means. They often say this is between each individual and the Holy Spirit and there is no need to study the original language(s), Biblical history and culture, or the words/writings of early Church Fathers.

I wish I had the link; I think they got rid of it. But at the National Atheist convention about 15 years ago, they put up the schedule or speakers and seminars, and it was a litany of leftwing pet causes: Climate change, gay stuff, all of it. And they had a time in the evening to arrange hook ups. I mean, these people made no bones about their having no rules. The theme of the whole weekend was 'why Christians and conservatives suck'. There was nothing resembling love or peace, or harmony. I just can't imagine a more unpleasant place to spend a weekend.
