The "Good Ol Days"

This should be an easy one for you.
Had I never been born, this country would still be racist. No policies have been put in place because I exist.

That's true ... Especially the Cherokee ... They owned a load of slaves.

Ran them right up the Trail of Tears ... After the Indian Removal Act of 1830.
Joseph "Rich Joe" Vann ... The Cherokee leader at the time ... Brought 200 black slaves with him when he had to go to the Cherokee Nation.

The Cherokee ran businesses ... Where they joined with the Choctaw and the other "Civilized Tribes" ...
And hunted down escaped slaves ... What they liked to call "recusing them".

They had their own "Black Codes" ... Expelled all "Freedmen" from their Territory ... And rebuilt their Nation with slave labor.
Damn ... "Rich Joe" ... Built steamboat operations ... Using slave labor ... That pretty much controlled major waterways in ...
Ohio, Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi ... The Choctaw wouldn't let him do it Louisiana.
