Trump 45 constantly whined about Obama's JCPOA which had resulted in great success in ridding Iran of its enriched uranium among other accomplishments.

One of his chief complaints was that the JCPOA did not address Iran's ballistic missiles.

Example:

Remarks by President Trump on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action

Not only does the deal fail to halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but it also fails to address the regime’s development of ballistic missiles that could deliver nuclear warheads.

Okay? With me so far? Trump 45 was all about Iran not having ballistic missiles.

But what about Trump 47?

On the first day of his war with Iran, Trump put on his tough guy voice and said, "We're going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It will be totally again obliterated."

That never happened. Iran continued to fling missiles all over the Middle East, including killing 15 Americans and wounding hundreds more.

But the MOU made the elimination of Iran's ballistic missiles a central part, right? I mean, that was one of the key reasons he ripped up Obama's JCPOA. So the MOU requires Iran's ballistic missile program to be kaput, right?

Right?

NOPE!

There isn't a single word about ballistic missiles in the Memorandum of Understanding. Not a word.

Now, I always thought George Orwell was being allegorical when the proles in 1984 would do a complete mental flip-flop in a millisecond.

"We have always been at war with Eastasia."

Based on the behaviors of Trump's followers, I have since come to realize Orwell was being literal.

Here's Trump at the G7 summit after signing the MOU:

Trump: Unfair for Iran not to have ballistic missiles

"If other countries have them, it's a little bit unfair for them not to have some. A ballistic missile is not the same thing we're talking about when we talk [about] nuclear. If Saudi Arabia and Qatar, they all have some, I would say in relative proportion – I think it's ok."

1. Ballistic missiles, unfair not to let Iran have them.

2. $25 million cash payment to Iran.

3. $300 billion in reparations to Iran.

4. All sanctions lifted.

Total. Capitulation.

This sure has not aged well:

If I were you I'd be prepared to have this thread moved to the Iran forum. One of the mods is rather obsessive about it. Or at least he is with my threads. The last time he just blocked further replies. A real dick move.

Unless he lives in 24/7/365 denial, which is entirely possible, he has to know how badly he mucked this up. And no doubt he's blaming Bebe.

He had to get out. The clock was ticking, he was going to toss the entire world economy into the toilet, and the Iranian psychos had all the cards.

What a goddamn fool. It amazes me that any "adult" would have so little working knowledge of the Middle East.

I have no idea what that has to do with Trump doing a complete 180 on Iran's ballistic missiles.

Total. Capitulation.

How Trump and Hegseth did not foresee Iran closing the Strait will be puzzling historians for many years to come.

Yet Iran was able to hit all of our allies in the Middle East with missiles, and managed to kill and wound our troops.

Guess you missed that.

And now Trump is giving them $325 billion to rebuild, and allowing them a ballistic missile program.

A complete 180.

Total. Capitulation.

Pure, unadulterated ignorance. The only two "adults" in the world who didn't know that would happen.

And the biggest reason no previous President tried this.

God damn.

I bet on Bibi's baffling BS. "Everything will be destroyed Don. How can they close the straight if everyting is destoyed? How can they? Hmm, can you tell me, Donalt!"

Pete was polishing Donnie's shoes, he didn't hear a thing

So, other Presidents were scared?

Question Mac, is what Iran did a violation of international law?

So, other Presidents were scared?
No. They were intelligent.

Intelligent enough to make gains with Iran without a war.

Two Years On, the Iran Deal is Working

Under the terms of the deal, Iran agreed the heavy-water reactor would be reconfigured so it was not capable of yielding material for a nuclear weapon.

The removal of the core is one of the final steps required by the deal.

Iran ships uranium to Russia, fulfilling a key provision of nuclear deal

Iran shipped thousands of pounds of enriched uranium to Russia on Monday, a key commitment in the nuclear deal that had to be fulfilled before international sanctions can be lifted.

Iran 'fills Arak nuclear reactor core with concrete'

Question Mac, is what Iran did a violation of international law?
I see.

Iran was supposed to just sit there and take it?
