Even though a definitely decreasing minority in the Christian American community, the article argues that on issues of "Republicans, Evangelicals, Gays and Abortion" these folks have too much power.

That was certainly a fact, and only in 2014 did the GOP generally stay within the bounds of central to conservative America. The overwhelming Republican victory was not only a defeat for the Dems but also the far right Christian social cons. We have witnessed outbursts by some like Judge Roy Moore urging the state officials to defy the laws on marriage equality but such seem to be coming less frequently.
I wonder how much impact the far right social Christians will have on the elections next year.
