The big tech tyrants think they have credit with the democrat party because of the attacks on Trump and conservatives.....

To that, I say....

The democrat party is not going to allow those tech giants to one day turn their censorship against democrats......the democrat party will pass a bill that essentially puts them in control of those companies......

This is what obama tried to do to the news...the Wall Street Journal column linked in the thread...

As Commissioner Pai explains in the Wall Street Journal:

Last May the FCC proposed an initiative to thrust the federal government into newsrooms across the country. With its "Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs," or CIN, the agency plans to send researchers to grill reporters, editors and station owners about how they decide which stories to run. A field test in Columbia, S.C., is scheduled to begin this spring.
The purpose of the CIN, according to the FCC, is to ferret out information from television and radio broadcasters about "the process by which stories are selected" and how often stations cover "critical information needs," along with "perceived station bias" and "perceived responsiveness to underserved populations."

In fact, the FCC is now expanding the bounds of regulatory powers to include newspapers, which it has absolutely no authority over, in its new government monitoring program.

Google, Apple, Twitter....may have fortunes to spend...but the democrats now have the cops.......

You think those millionaires and billionaires are going to keep their money? Californication wants all their wealth, even if they try to leave....help the progs fuck yourself, because liberals/prog slaves are just dumber than a box of rocks...

The mainstream mass media, social media, new media of all types, have never in history allowed the common people, and every imaginable interest group, to communicate so freely as we do today.

Unfortunately, this has allowed partisan “bubbles of unreality” and “echo chambers” to develop to an unheard of level. Common Americans, long the best entertained and the least well-informed people in the modern world, never had a firm grip on reality outside their own bubble. With time and experience, perhaps they will learn better how to deal with a never “black and white” and “evil and godly” reality.

The development of the Gutenberg Press brought many positive changes, helped in the emergence of modern languages and even nations. It also brought the Protestant Revolution against the Catholic Church and old feudal ideas.

But religious wars and mass hysteria were also part of that “communication revolution.” Trump’s cultist power over many of his followers, the expansion of his bubble of conspiracy theories and the “virtual revolution” he encouraged and used to try to stay in power, were a modern madness, witch-hunting in the post television age, led by a politically ambitious, megalomaniacal media master.

There are of course real reasons for anger and Democrats also use the new media. Once heralded as “democratic,” the internet and social media revolution has not reached its end-game by a long shot. We need to stay alert to all the dangers that lurk in the technology, and try to use it for more than enraging passions and promoting partisan stupidity.

Yes, this is the perfect example of what new media allows. It allows easy cartoon responses filled with insult and passion to replace honest discussion and serious thought. It accustoms the common people to use partisan memes instead of rational argument. The only person here whose head is up his own ass ... is you.

The social media giants (FB and Twitter) are under no such illusion as to what government is going to do to them; liberal or conservative. Apple doesn't really have a dog in the fight as to it being a hardware manufacturer. Amazon is concerned but they don't bear much exposure.

FB and Twitter know its coming...they probably think they'll get a fairer hearing from the left than the right. I'm not sure I agree.

But like all Americans...in the macro....they are overjoyed the blob is gone.

Conservatives were not ready for the freedom to communicate with the outside world. Typically these are simple folk that live in isolation their entire lives without once speaking to someone that lives a more complex life. The leaders of the conservative party on the other hand are all con artists and grifters intent on sucking as much money as possible from their base and conning them into voting against their own best interests. The fact that they lied to their base simply to keep money flowing into the coffers displays their disdain and utter contempt for the level of intelligence of the common conservative. it was a devastatingly evil use of social media.

If they think the left will be merciful to them, they don't understand human history or human nature......the left hates free speech and free markets......they really hate corporations....the tech giants should have stayed neutral...the conservatives value free speech and free markets........the tech giants chose their allies foolishly...

You still think like a convict. The companies are doing it out of a need to have a stable govt. something Trump could not deliver.

My guess is that Apple, Google and Twitter will become part of the democrat party's propaganda machine.

The Democrats will break them all apart because they won't want the Tech giants to be in a position to turn on them in the future.

The only reason the average US citizen can communicate today as they is because GW's Housing Crash almost destroyed the computer industry and almost anyone can now set up a website and say how much the Government and Businesses suck.
