The extreme cold, the USA is experiencing, is a result of global warming. The most uneducated among us feel it is proof there is no global warming. The cure for stupidity is to educate yourself.

Specifically, warming temperatures are disrupting the polar vortex and pushing cold air into non-traditional areas. While the polar vortex may be bringing extreme cold temperatures to one part of the world, the rest of the world is experiencing extremely hot weather.

It is no coincidence you will see polar temperatures across the country right after 2023 is the hottest year on record.

As in previous cycles, the earth is still in an ice age .. specifically the Quaternary glaciation... and the interglacial period called the Holocene epoch .. which has been around for about 12K years .. Were there questions about this or are you trying to tie this to modern man?

I have explained this to these morons several times a winter every winter for years.

You are wasting your breath.

Climate Change is Unfalsifiable Woo-Woo Pseudoscience

"Karl Popper famously said, "A theory that explains everything explains nothing." So what do you make of the theory that catastrophic manmade CO2-driven "climate change" can account for harsher winters and lighter winters, more snow and less snow, droughts and floods, more hurricanes and less hurricanes, more rain and less rain, more malaria and less malaria, saltier seas and less salty seas, Antarctica ice melting and Antarctic ice gaining and dozens of other contradictions? Popper gave a name to "theories" like this: pseudoscience."

Climate change makes for shorter winters
Climate change makes for harsher winters
Climate change means less snow (This is actually an archive of the independent.)

Climate change means more snow
Climate change causes droughts in California
Climate change causes floods in Texas and Oklahoma
Climate change makes wet places wetter and dry places drier...
...except when it makes wet places dryer...
...and dry places wetter
Climate change causes more hurricanes
Climate change causes less hurricanes
Climate change causes more rain (but less water)
Climate change causes less rain
Climate change decreases the spread of malaria
Climate change increases the spread of malaria

. . . anyways. . you get the point. I'm getting sick of going in and digging these articles out, that I know you won't look at anyway.

If you want me to pull any of these examples out of the archive, get back to me. .

Science as Falsification

The following excerpt was originally published in Conjectures and Refutations (1963).

by Karl R. Popper

". . . These considerations led me in the winter of 1919-20 to conclusions which I may now reformulate as follows.

  1. It is easy to obtain confirmations, or verifications, for nearly every theory — if we look for confirmations.
  2. Confirmations should count only if they are the result of risky predictions; that is to say, if, unenlightened by the theory in question, we should have expected an event which was incompatible with the theory — an event which would have refuted the theory.
  3. Every "good" scientific theory is a prohibition: it forbids certain things to happen. The more a theory forbids, the better it is.
  4. A theory which is not refutable by any conceivable event is non-scientific. Irrefutability is not a virtue of a theory (as people often think) but a vice.
  5. Every genuine testof a theory is an attempt to falsify it, or to refute it. Testability is falsifiability; but there are degrees of testability: some theories are more testable, more exposed to refutation, than others; they take, as it were, greater risks.
  6. Confirming evidence should not count except when it is the result of a genuine test of the theory; and this means that it can be presented as a serious but unsuccessful attempt to falsify the theory. (I now speak in such cases of "corroborating evidence.")
  7. Some genuinely testable theories, when found to be false, are still upheld by their admirers — for example by introducing ad hoc some auxiliary assumption, or by reinterpreting the theory ad hoc in such a way that it escapes refutation. Such a procedure is always possible, but it rescues the theory from refutation only at the price of destroying, or at least lowering, its scientific status. (I later described such a rescuing operation as a "conventionalist twist" or a "conventionalist stratagem.")
One can sum up all this by saying that the criterion of the scientific status of a theory is its falsifiability, or refutability, or testability. . . . "

The only solution to the "existential" threat of fascist democrat global stupidity (FDGS) is for you all to heroically step up and save the sacred earth mother by immediately removing selves from her! :boohoo:

There is no cure for stupid unless you open your eyes and researh the information available. Stupid people are too lazy to do so and are scared at what they may find,

Look in any mirror for stupid, then reread your OP and nod that you indeed did see stupid.

Did you even. . . uh... look at the date on your article?

:dunno:

At the end of the year, will 2024 replace 2023 as the warmest year on record? There's a good chance.

So ya see folks, that's the reason why we should consider all the denialist barking at the moon over feeling chilly as nothing more than their insecure doubts on their agendas?

We best help them to keep the conversation alive![/B]
