The enemies of America want the United States to fail.

If the president fails, the country fails. In my entire life, only the enemies of this country want America to fail.

False. If this President fails, America might even thrive.

When the intent of the President (or the probable outcome of his ignorant and misguided policies) is damaging to the Republic, hoping that he fails is quite the OPPOSITE of hoping the country fails, rderp, you dishonest hack.
I repeat, with a 5% approval rating, the American voter has zeroed in on the Congress, not the president, as the prime political target to vent their anger.

As much as our conservative "friends" would like to circumvent the issue with their "If this President fails, America might even thrive" argument, the country sees the Republican majority in the House as a major part of the problem.

The Country dislikes CONGRESS and Congress is not just the GOP controlled House. It is also the liberal Democrat controlled Senate.

And the President's polices are hideous regardless of your spin about public perception. To the extent folks RECOGNIZE what a clusterfuck this President has been AS President, then opposing him, his policies and plans is perfectly appropriate.

Wanting him to fail is wanting the country to succeed.

Good point. People want the Congress to send the President something he can sign as opposed to bills giving away public lands for exploitation by private corps at pennies on the $. The Boehner (R) Congress is quite adept at naming post offices though

It's not a point much less good when it's wrong. What was congress doing 4 years ago? 2 years ago?

FOX News/Opinion Dynamics Poll
10 August 06
Polling was conducted by telephone August 8-9, 2006, in the evenings. The
total sample is 900 registered voters nationwide with a margin of error of ±3
percentage points. Results are of registered voters, unless otherwise noted.

10. Regardless of how you voted in the presidential election, would you say you
want President Bush to succeed or not?
SCALE: 1. Yes, want him to succeed 2. No, do not want him to succeed 3. (Don’t know)
Yes No (Don’t know)
8-9 Aug 06 63% 32 5
Democrats 40% 51 9
Republicans 90% 7 2
Independents 63% 34 3

In 2006, 51% of Democrats wanted Bush to fail.

According to Rderp, they wanted America to fail and were thus enemies of America.

Or is that different? Somehow?

This is true. I've never heard an opposition party openly hoping a President to fail or the leaders of that party setting the agenda that the President will be a one term President.

The Republicans are not an "opposition party" since they would support Obama's policies only if Obama was white and a Republican.

What a fucking race baiting jackass.

Is that your example of "civility?"

No poll from FOX is credible.

But using standard CON$ervative rationalizations, 90% of Republicans wanted Bush to succeed in destroying the American economy.

OK then, what is the difference between Bush's "compassionate conservatism" and Obama's "we are our brothers' keepers socialism" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

.

So then you're describing Liberals, right? Because I sure remember a LOT of Liberals saying they wanted Bush to fail - I'm sure you would have never said such a thing but there were a lot of "other" Liberals who sure did.

Hysterics and hyperbole aside, this happens with every president. The other side wants him to fail. Duh.
