That's hard to say. Obviously they left a mark in the music world, but I'm not sure they were "great." Morrison was more of a poet than a singer. In fact, he wasn't much of a singer at all. The music was probably average at best. Don't get me wrong, I like The Doors, but I think their popularity is more a product of the era than their talent.
