The dollars and cents of tariffs.

Amazon is considering showing the trump tariffs as a seperate lineon your receipt.
The White House considers this to be a "hostile" action, presumably becauseit will show the cost of tariffs to consumers.
Should amazon be free to bill people honestly and accurately without big state interference ?

As it turns out, Bezos is still up trump's ass.

President Donald Trump personally called Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on Tuesday to complain about about a report that the online retail giant was considering displaying U.S. tariff costs on its product listings, a source familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Within hours of the call, Amazon publicly downplayed the scope of its plan — and then announced that it had been scrapped entirely.

The pressure campaign on Bezos by Trump and the White House came after Punchbowl News reported earlier Tuesday that Amazon will soon show consumers how much of an item’s cost comes from tariffs.

The amount added as a result of tariffs will be displayed right next to each product’s total listed price, a person familiar with the plan told the news outlet.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to the report by torching Amazon over what she called “a hostile and political act.”

I'm trying to imagine the reaction of trumples if Biden had used the power of the presidency to intimidate a national retailer in to obeying his command under threat of retribution.
He messed with the pirate, he got the hook.

Yes, but when other countries are forced into fair trade agreements US citizens will benefit.

I am curious that you loons didn't seem to mind the stiff tariffs the Biden administration imposed on Chinese products, but that's different right ? Because Trump. Oh well partisan hacks gotta partisan hack.

I thought Biden more or less just left the tariffs in place that were agreed to by trump.

But it wouldn't surprise me if Biden added some.

What exactly do you think Amazon's margins are? It's around 14%. So items that sell for $10 costs $8.60. Now they will cost $9.40 and you will pay $11 for the item with a nearly $1 tariff. Awesome.
.

Don't care about anything that has to do with Amazon.

I don't buy from them like all you slaves.

Amazon has already backtracked and is denying the report.

WASHINGTON, April 29 (Reuters) – Amazon.com denied a report on Tuesday that it planned to disclose the cost that U.S. tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump were adding to its products, after the White House blasted the initial story.

Amazon said Tuesday it never considered listing tariffs on its main retail site, and nothing was implemented on any company site. “The team that runs our ultra-low cost Amazon Haul store has considered the idea of listing import charges on certain products,” a company spokesperson said. (more)

Amazon's ability to harm me extends only as far as my ability to be harmed by Amazon.

I think it's great! The world needs to see how Amazon uses slave labor to make products, and then marks them up 5,000% for their American consumers.

Amazon is going to let Amazon customers know that Amazon uses slave labor to make products?

Are you high?

I have prime but WalMart is a good place to shop and buy on line... they seem to be able to get almost everything Amazon can and its here in two days...

Of course. Once they show the cost of the tariff they are paying, it's simple math to calculate what they are paying for that product. If the tariff is 145%, and Amazon shows they pay $1.45 in tariff on an item, that means the item costs them $1.00.

If they're selling that item for $20.00, even a retard like you can figure out what their markup is.

Or, are you SO fucking stupid, you can't even do that?

.Good for them. Let them be slaves.
Slaves to the slave!

I don’t think they would show what the markup percentage is - just how much the tariff increased the price.

Old Price: $20.00
Tariff cost: $1.45
New Price: $21.45

Nice and simple.

You can try to spin that however you want. It’s not going to work.
