If they list sales taxes, why not tariffs? They’re just another tax.

List every tax that contributes to the cost, from corporate taxes, property taxes, to taxes on electricity, fuel and other utilities.

All are part of the overall cost.

Because Biden's inflationary policies cost the average American family $17,000 out of pocket for one year. I don't remember the left having a problem with that...yet they're apoplectic over tariffs that haven't come close to costing people that much. Do you grasp the "reality" of that?

Trump's backing down on tariffs, so this could still not be terribly really terrible. It could have actually been good, if Trump had actually cut govt spending, but doge didn't get the job done. Just cut spending. Set a % for each agency/dept. It's like he's never really ran a business ..... imagine that.

Did you REALLY just criticize Trump for not getting the job done cutting Government spending? You do realize that he's being fought tooth and nail by Democrats, intent on keeping that from happening? They're hitting him with lawsuit after lawsuit brought by pet judges in liberal courts. That "lawfare" will be overturned by the Supreme Court but it's kept Trump from moving ahead with something that the American people are OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of!

Yet another liberal that doesn't "get" what Trump is doing with his tariffs! I know this is a hard concept for all of you to grasp but Trump doesn't want the tariffs to become permanent...he's using them for leverage to get other nations to stop misbehaving with THEIR trade policies!

I have never been a fan of tariffs. But you miss the point. To flatly declare “tariffs hurt” is to ignore the FACT that tariffs have helped and might yet still help.

When nations don’t use their governments to interfere with true free trade (not just finished products, but also raw materials) I maintain we shouldn’t use tariffs on them, either. But for our enemies and for any nation that uses any tariffs against us, those folks deserve it back in spades.
