OR did exec’s drink the George Floyd koolaid and kill the brand with a heavy dose of wokeology? Jim Beam started producing commercials that featured trannies and ‘multiculturalism’ and ever since the brand has been on a steep decline. Maybe FUBU is for black folks and Jim Beam is for Rednecks huh?
What’s your thoughts, is the brand on the brink of extinction because tarriffs or because wokeness?

Jim Beam, like many American whiskey brands, has faced significant challenges due to tariffs, which have led to a 27% drop in U.S. whiskey exports to the European Union, its largest market. Overall, U.S. spirits exports fell by 9% in the second quarter of 2025, indicating a negative impact on sales due to these trade policies.

Everything, I could find, points to 1. Tariffs crippling exports in Canada and the European Union (Jim Beams largest overseas market). 2. Americans are tending to drink less, of all whiskeys and Bourbons. The was no mention, I found of any negative publicity backlash, due to any advertising campaign. I rarely buy Beam, tending to keep Marker Mark in the cabinet, but I also and actually drinking much less hard liquor than I used to, especially since leaving the military. Most of my rowdy friends actually have rowdied on down, as the song says. I think, we have only consumed one bottle of Makers Mark since November and that is a little unusual, for us.

appears they made more than they can sell thus a backlog of inventory

you have a large supply but not the demand..........business 101 here

tariffs don't make a dent in this scenario

Of course the left is going to find any reason to blame anything on Trump. Trump killed the dinosaurs!!!! So what they do is find one isolated tidbit that could be used to attack Trump and then they amplify it as much as possible and try to turn it into a national issue on the MSM. Now it certainly is plausible that taking a product like Jim Beam and associating it with drag queens was a a marketing disaster, as with Bud Light, but there could be thousands of other better reasons why Jim Beam is in trouble, and none of them have anything to do with Trump.

Note to all who are not devout leftists: Don't listen to devout leftists, they always have an agenda.

Advertisting can work both ways.

If Ben and Jerry’s stated using racist rednecks in their ads, might their sales be damaged?

Likely.

That’s not what the producers have said. They flat out blamed the tariffs for destroying their export markets.

In Canada, all of the provinces removed American made wine and liquor from the liquor store shelves.

I was hoping we’d bring in more French and other European wines but they went with South American wines instead. They’re surprisingly good.

The rest of the world is moving on to new markets and more reliable trading partners. Trump has killed 100,000 US manufacturing jobs since his return to office.

And there’s 3 more years to go.

I’m sure placating to the enemy of their base has nothing to do with the lack of demand. I’m pretty sure they’re getting silently Bud Light’ed.

Which "enemy' is that?

The fact that you think of people of different races, religions, or sexual orientations as "the enemy" is more a condemnation of you than them.

If lefties do not like Jim Beam, they do not mind that Tariffs killed him. They want people they do not like to die.

I think you are a tad confused.

Jim Beam makes an unhealthy product, but we don't think the government should be the health police.

That said, what is killing Jim Beam is that Tariffs have closed off foreign markets to them.

And they are the canary in the coal mine.

Why hasnt it happened to other brands

Actually, it has.

The economic slump has affected several iconic American brands. This includes Jack Daniel’s, Old Forester and Woodford Reserve, which are all owned by parent company Brown-Forman. The company previously announced it was “laying off about 650 employees, or 12% of its workforce, in the face of declining demand,” said The New York Times. Several other whiskey brands, including Garrard County Distilling Co. in Kentucky and Uncle Nearest in Tennessee, have been placed into receivership in 2025.

Despite these other factors, Kentucky politicians seem to place the blame on the Trump administration’s shoulders. It is “hard to overstate just how devastating Trump’s tariffs are for America’s signature spirit,” said Rep. Morgan McGarvey (D-Ky.) in a post on X, referring to the Jim Beam closure. “Thousands of Kentuckians power the bourbon industry — we will all feel the impact of this.”

My family lives about a mile from JB and right in the center of bourbon country in nelson county. Mainly, from the distillers I've talked to its that less people are drinking now and not as much. Tariffs aren't a huge factor.
