Tithing is a ripoff. Stop giving money to your local church. Give 10% of your money to someone you know that can use it.

Any questions?

mind yer own business , free country , do what you like with your money Vasu !!

You have to stop doing it. It is bad as bad can be. It's a big ole stink pot or something another.

If you are not giving to a church then it doesn't matter. This thread isn't for you. If you are giving to a church then stop it immediately.

I just want to make sure people aren't doing it.

That sounds like a really good idea, but I don't now anyone who needs it? Could I just give it to you instead?

No. Give it to Mickiel. He is poor because he gives too much to the televangelists on TV. He is an idiot and needs your financial assistance.

Are you sure? Because at least he is spending his resources on something he believes, rather than wasting his time discussing something he doesn't. I have often wondered if people who devote such a large amount of their time arguing against the existence of something are not in and of themselves proof that it must exist.

Depending on the Church that I will tie my tithe to!

I will only donate to ones that have shelters, food banks, and help the community...

Giving it directly to the individual may not help them without structure!

That is an excellent strategy and you are spot on about structure too. The concept of subsidiarity states that help should be performed at the lowest possible hierarchical level available (Order of effectiveness: 1. family, 2. friends, 3. community, 4. city, 5. state, 6. federal). That is the best way of effecting change. It is very consistent with your approach.

People have to realize that it costs money to be on god's good side.

No. It doesn't.

Tell that to Jesus next time you pray. See what happens.
Why don't you tell Him yourself?

I would never tell Jesus that.
Why not? Could it be because you practice a rival religion?

Their religion is socialism which worships big government and social policy. It is based on atheism and deification of man. It proceeds in almost all its manifestations from the assumption that the basic principles guiding the life of an individual and of mankind in general do not go beyond the satisfaction of material needs or primitive instincts. They have no distinction between good and evil, no morality or any other kind of value, save pleasure. Their doctrine is abolition of private property, abolition of family, abolition of religion and communality or equality. The religious nature of socialism explains the extraordinary attraction to socialist doctrines and its capacity to inflame individuals and inspire popular movements and condemn respect for any who believe in Christianity. They practice moral relativity, indiscriminate indiscriminateness, multiculturalism, cultural marxism and normalization of deviance. Their hostility towards traditional religions is that of an animosity between a rival religion. They can be identified by an external locus of control. They worship science but are the first to argue against it. They are modern American liberals.
