Based upon your list, it would appear that "in my personal opinion," you are someone who is just left of center.
My personal opinion of the LGBTQ+ community is that I don't care if they want to get married and live together and can hold most any occupation. There are a few exceptions, but businesses and the government can discriminate based upon the company's requirements. As most women/girls don't want men claiming to be women in their bathrooms or competing against them in their particular gender's sport due to physical strength differences, I stand with them with that.
As appealing as universal healthcare sounds, the reality is not all that great, "per statements from people living with it." Sure, it would be nice to walk into a clinic, urgent care facility or hospital and walk out with little to no paperwork and no bills, but that's not how it actually works in many cases. Add to this, with what it called universal healthcare, these facilities get crowded with people coming in for minor things that they could easily handle themselves and the waiting time for appointments is frustrating and people die while waiting. Add in millions of migrants and it becomes worse and undermines the social programs. Such things are happening in Europe and even Canada.
I'm all for election integrity but good luck with that when it comes to primarily the so-called Democrats.
Our nation's budget was balanced under Bill Clinton, but he gutted our military bases in the process. Massive auditing of all states programs and NGO's helps. We've been sending billions to nations south of the border which is supposed to help their populations, but the people never seem to get the help and they end up flooding up here. I don't mind "some" funds going to those nations south of the border, but US involvement in its distribution and regular auditing of any funds we send, must be monitored.
What's to define "populist?" Any political candidate that is elected by the people, is by definition, populist.
No problem with helping with global hunger, as long as it does not negatively impact our own citizens. Our people first, then help others.
Strong alliances? Well, that depends. World War I was technically a "war of treaties." Because of defense alliances, various nations were obligated to come to the aid of other nations.
My favorite presidents were, Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. So, I am an independent. It boils down to the policies and the so-called Democrat Party has been infiltrated with Socialists and outright Communists who if they had stayed in their respective parties that do exist, they wouldn't get elected. The only thing we hear from the so-called Democrat Party now is hate Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump. Just TDS.
