Remember the movie? The China Syndrome (1979) - IMDb Check this out:

Nuclear expert admits Fukushima reactors melted into the ground, contaminating hundreds of tons of groundwater daily

Thomas Henry, Natural News, January 11, 2014

Fallout from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster from two and a half years ago continues to silently impact health and safety around the world. After explosions in four of the six reactors, three melted down into the ground, and there is no way to simply plug the dam.

The effects of this unprecedented disaster continue to play out in slow motion. But of course, what isn’t seen remains little talked about in the media or among the public.

We clearly haven't seen the last of this. Check it out @ Prison Planet.com » Nuclear expert admits Fukushima reactors melted into the ground, contaminating hundreds of tons of groundwater daily

As usual, Alex Jones takes a nugget of truth, and builds a house of bullshit around it.

No "China Syndrome" event occurred at Fukushima. The fallout released comes from radioactive steam explosions, and coolant water being released into the ocean by the Japanese government.

The cores, 2 of which did "melt down", were contained within the containment vessel, and were not the causes of any radioactive leakage. The contaminated water is pumped into the containment vessel to keep the melted core from continuing to sustain a reaction, then released in the ocean - a bad idea, certainly. But not "China Syndrome" - that hasn't happened since Chernobyl, and we learned enough from that to prevent it from happening again. (The key is a containment vessel, which wasn't part of the Chernobyl reactor)

On the topic of Chernobyl - nearly 30 years later, they're finally getting around to building a permanent containment structure this year.

In the basement of the Chernobyl reactor, there's a mass of melted fuel rods called "the elephant's foot", which is expected to remain dangerously radioactive for thousands of years.
